My father said eat your crusts or your hair won't be curly. I spent my entire life trying to straighten my hair. Now, at 59, I honestly believe that we have to think about our lives as kids, when curls were natural. Keep it clean, stop stressing, don't focus on one name brand. Find and use several brands. A trim now and again helps, don't weigh it down, don't over process (yes, embrace those grey hairs. NATURAL means NATURAL. I am still trying to embrace this. Good luck, hot chicks with waves and curls.

No. Products and scrunching would leave straight hair straight otherwise nobody would need heat tools!

No.

My hair has a very very slight and annoying wave. It just looks straight. If l scrunch and use products it goes wavy.

Yes because you have wavy hair?
if you have straight hair you can do what you want and it won’t wave/curl

It’s got one annoying tiny wave at the back. It would never ever be classed as wavy. Hairdressers call it poker straight.

I tried it after my first curly cut. It worked quite well but I then found something much cheaper that works equally well on my 2c hair.

it ruined my scalp and i am still struggling with the after effects now. curls were okay but nothing special but the itching and flaking of the scalp has driven me slightly potty. Waste of 50 odd quid tbh.

I have heard others have suffered the same and had short shrift from the company when raising it with them or leaving a not perfect review.

I thought about it, but ended up finding ‘The wavy hair method by Charlotte Rich’ Facebook group.
It uses normal products depending on your hair type and health.

Merwave is nothing special, the results can be achieved using normal products.
a lot of people end up in protein overload using it, which is why hair may go like straw.

FrostyFox4 · 21/11/2025 07:44

I am using it at the moment;

day 1 amazing curls
day 2: still okeyish
day 3 awkward, straw like nasty mess.

I came here to read experiences.
