Eyelash situation

So I'm post-menopausal & one of the changes for me has been loss of eyelashes. They are just awful just now - about 50% have gone on each lid & it looks terrible.

I think a lot of it has been a change of mascara. I always used L'Oréal Paradise mascara which had added castor oil & this was really good but has been discontinued.

I always use eyelash curlers which doesn't help either.

Could you please help me formulate a plan before I lose the rest of them?

Are there any other castor oil mascara's out there?

A good, reasonably priced eyelash serum?

Anything else?

Uk lash. Or just buy caster oil and apply it daily

I used UK Lash & my lashes did grow but I had dreadful dark purple lids top & bottom, looked like I’d been punched in the face. It faded when I stopped. Tried it again as I’d bought a double pack but the same thing happened, looked awful.

Sorry to jump on thread, but can anyone suggest anything for helping brows grow. Mine have got so thin. Will definitely be trying out these serum suggestions for my lashes also.

I bought the one from UK lash but it didn't do anything.
I'm not sure how it could really, with lashes it's lengthening their moulting cycle, I can't see how new hair would suddenly spring from your eyebrow area.

How are you taking your mascara off? If you are using cotton pads or wipes with a product, then rubbing that might be the culprit. There are "tubing mascaras" that are wax/polymer based and those are taken off with warm water (just melts away!), no rubbing. Switching to those made great difference for me.

i can’t understand anyone using glaucoma meds just to lengthen eye lashes!
not only can they cause allergic reactions, darken the skin around your eyes and make your irises darker, they often cause dry eye and can give you macula oedema..
OP eye lash loss is often a complication of anterior blepharitis. I’d go and have an eye exam and see if you have some lid inflammation.

I use Sweed,I buy it from amazon. Sali Hughes recommended it. Its not prostaglandins its peptides, it nourishes your lashes so they grow long and healthy. It works very quickly. Makes them long but not a lot thicker.

Various of them do brow serums too, I use a less expensive one on my brows but it has definitely filled in my patchy ends.

I don't usually wear mascara as it irritates my eyes. I always wear liquid eyeliner instead- I have light eyes and blonde lashes, it's perfect for making my eyes stand out 😊

Thanks for the replies - I'm using the Ordinary eyelash serum at the moment but not seeing much effect.

Mascara is the biggest accelerator of eyelash loss for me - I remember after my dad died I used a waterproof mascara & lost them very quickly.

A quick google reveals that there doesn't seem to be a mascara out there with castor oil so I might add a drop or two in to the one I use just now.

Your eyelash loss may have been down to your grief and the physical effects on your body. I was taught by someone who lost her hair after her family were killed in an accident.
