Leather sandals - where are you?

Looking to replace a couple of pairs of leather sandals and cannot see any that fit the bill. Tried all the usual online suspects - JL, asos, next, M&S.
Criteria - genuine leather, open to type of sole - espadrille, flatform, platform wedge, flat. Love gladiator style but think they’re out of fashion and can’t see anything, must cover a but of skin to hide my boney feet! 😬 No DM style sandals. Open to gold, bronze, tan, brown, khaki, coral, pink, red. Under £100. Can’t be that hard but been searching for months.

I second trying children’s sandals if your feet are small enough. I have a couple of really comfortable pairs from Zara Kids. Think they go up to a 5

Fatface? Fly london?
Go on vinted and type leather sandals?

You need the kids section at Next. They go up to at least a 41/7 and have rainbow colours should you so desire.

Was coming on to say this exact thing. After lots of searching I realised that Next kids had the leather styles I'd been looking for!

boredybored · 28/06/2024 20:05

I work in next and we have tonnes of leather sandals . I've got some great light gladiator ones .. super comfy

I would steer clear of kids shoes unless you are a child weight as they aren't as robust .

Just bought some Saltwater sandals and they ate great. Really plain but I've never liked 'fashion' sandals, they make me shudder (very aware this is a me problem!) They are just very unnoticeable sandals which will hopefully last a few summers.

Thanks all, been playing catch up since last night, researching all your much appreciated suggestions.
Have purchased a few pairs of menorcan sandals from TK Maxx. Special mention to @Gowlett for the rec. Lots of other ideas but not quite right, unfortunately I’ve got big feet (to match my long legs 😬🤣) so 41 is a 50/50 but will check out next kids too!

@minipie thank you! La Redoute hasn’t been on my radar for years but quite a few options I’ll probably order to try.
@GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut I’ve been through next so am sure will have seen the sandals you’ve linked to, but the picture isn’t loading on the website for some reason. Thanks anyway.

How annoying! Sorry, I see you've got some now, but it was these https://www.next.co.uk/style/ST182783/554378#554378

Sorry if someone else has suggested, have you looked at Jones Bootmaker? www.jonesbootmaker.com/products/hermione-325-181?variant=40447374917695

I've got three pairs of Saltwater sandals, I absolutely love them and can walk for hours in them

JoanDarc · 02/07/2024 18:20

Update post! Thanks everyone for your input, I ended up buying about 8 pairs from tk maxx, next and the Amazon sandals.
Amazon sandals feel relatively comfy, have never got on with toe posts other than Birkenstock but only plan one wearing in the hotel complex of an evening and only 20 quid so happy to take a punt.
Next sandals, the bronze bow ones are lovely on but feel a bit slidey to walk in. Aesthetic overruled comfort in this case so will keep them. I also ordered another toe post pair from next which were gorgeous but so sore in the changing room, would be blister central so unfortunately returned.
The menorcan sandals from tk maxx are incredibly comfortable on and look very pretty too. I ordered two sizes and between both so ended up sizing up. The heel straps don’t do much for this reason, will see how I get on.
3 pairs of leather sandals for £66 is pretty good! Thanks all! 🙏

I genuinely love my Hotter Tourist sandals, I've got them in tan leather and they are both comfortable and quite stylish. I have quite narrow feet so like the fact that they are adjustable, and I like sandals that are firmly attached to my feet, rather than Birkenstocks which only have a front strap. I'm surprised by how much I like them.
