Hairdryer recommendations please

My cheapo hairdryer has died. It was a Tresemme Amazon special.

It was two years old and replaced a much more expensive Mark Hill one that was well over ten years old when it died.

I can't decide whether to get another cheapy or invest. My hair is short and bobbed but I do wash it every day so the hairdryer gets a lot of use. Teen DDs hair is long and takes much longer to dry.

My hairdresser has a GHD one in her sale for £144. That seems like a lot for a hairdryer but I can afford it if a decent one is worth the money.

Any recommendations please?

Horribly expensive but I've had a Dyson for years now, and it is so good. (I actually bought it to dry my double coated dog Grin ) It's fast, quiet, and doesn't fry my hair!

We bought our DD a Dyson one a couple of years ago and she's leaving for uni soon. I'm gutted to be losing my DD and her hairdryer! It is really good. I don't know why but my hair feels softer and silkier after using it whereas other hairdryers left it dry and rough feeling.

Parlux: efficient and well made.

Definitely Parlux

Other vote for Dyson. I hate using a normal hairdryer now, they feel too hot.

Weirdly I have no issue paying £££ for a Dyson hoover but I'm umming and ahhing over the cost of a Dyson hairdryer. They do get very good reviews though.

The Parlux seems more budget friendly but am I right they are sold through beauty suppliers rather than John Lewis etc.

@RhubarbAndFlustered which one are you going to miss most?

@PatChaunceysFruitCake hmmm... it's a difficult one. Grin

Though the money I save when DD's away just on toiletries and toilet roll will probably mount up fast and I'll be able to afford my own Dyson Hairdryer before she's back for Christmas break.

Okay. It's the kid. I'll miss the kid slightly more.

I have a Parlux which I like although the rubber hanging strap broke early on which was annoying. It's very powerful but compact. Not keen on spending on a Dyson .

Now I'm worrying DD might lay claim to my new hairdryer when she goes Grin

I have a Dyson. I love it, it's very light, quiet and quick. It was a gift though.
