Hi I'm totally fed up of buying make up to conceal my dark circles that doesn't and sits in my lines , at every make up counter they tell me their products work but they don't seem to and I've spent a fortune . So what works for you ? I'm at a loss but not giving up yet

When my long standing Laura Mercier concealer turned against me, I decided to try this
https://www.boots.com/nyx-professional-makeup-bare-w-me-concealer-serum-10308219

And it's pretty decent. A tiny bit goes a very long way and I've not had much in the way of caking or settling into lines.

Now, if someone could just sort mascara out for me, that'd be great. It now goes all over my face after 5 mins. (Not related to the new concealer, I have tested!)

At the age of 77, I’ve had long experience in concealing dark under eye circles! I was a big fan of the Collection concealer for many years. Then, I discovered the ELF Camo Concealer a few years ago, which suits me very well. I use one that is a couple of shades lighter than my foundation, and blend it well. It doesn’t seem to cake, or collect in lines much, and is very inexpensive.

@Thursdaygirl I use this one:

I use a colour corrector first (peach one) and then a smaller amount of concealer. The only caveat is that mine are pigmentation and brownish rather than bruised looking.

Im only 48 but have tried many products to help my dark circles.

For making them better in general, drinking gallons of water, taking supplements inc something like Perfectil, and moisturising quite a bit under the eyes. Clinique Even Better eye cream is good, as is Inkey List brightening one. Since I started running I’ve noticed a marked improvement which I assume is something to do with my circulation.

Hello Sunday spf for eyes is great.

for makeup the best thing I’ve found is ‘demi make up’ (look on Instagram but just for technique - some of the posters are selling MLM colour products which you don’t need, you can use any makeup). you don’t put makeup all over your face but only where it’s needed and you colour correct and spot correct. You don’t have to layer colour corrector, concealer, foundation, powder, so the creasing etc is much less and it looks more natural. The Elf eye colour correctors are really good. The Clinique peach one is good too. You can also use the highlighter type of concealer to lighten eg the inner corners. It’s amazing how using a little bit of really focused colour on veins, sun damage etc makes the whole area look better.

Boots No.7 Hydra luminous Dark Circle Concealer

I'm 56 and I've been on a lifelong search for the perfect dark circle concealer.

I don't wear much make-up and I've never worn foundation, so that has made the search all the more difficult because none of ones I've tried have looked natural enough.

I found Boots No.7 Hydraluminous and love it!

I buff it in with a flat headed foundation brush and it just melts in to cover the dark circles. It's pretty much invisible and doesn't sit in/accentuate my eye wrinkles at all (and I have lots!).

I've bought a huge stash of it in my shade, just in case they discontinue it or muck about with the formula (as Boots tend to do).

jeaux90 · 28/11/2024 18:22

@Puppyinaflat many thanks for the tip, bought some and it's really great! I do use the CB cream from beauty and the boutique on the inner bit near the nose still but under the eye this No 7 Product works really well.

Marmaladegin · 28/11/2024 18:53

@thedevilinablackdress yes I have NYx's bare with me concealer. Not perfect but it isn't bad... though I would advise for any of these a) not too light- definitely looks worse if you don't get a good colour match- the above one is excellent for a range of shades. B) primer primer primer. I have a cheap one from revolution which I've found just as good as my elf one which is twice the price. Makes loads of difference to how well my concealer lasts

This ☝️. It's cheap, light weight and works really well. I use setting spray after and although it doesn't last all day it is light enough to top up after a few hours and it doesn't go cakey. A really good product.

Ilovemyshed · 28/11/2024 21:37

I got some of this in TK Maxx and so far, pretty impressed

Nothing I have tried has ever worked at all on my bad under eye circles. In fact most products end up making a feature out of them 😒
I have finally thought fuck it and given up

BabCNesbitt · 28/11/2024 22:10

Another voice for the HydraLuminous undereye concealer. It doesn’t work miracles, but it does make me go from “zombie” to “at least seven hours of sleep” and doesn’t crease.

MrsGhastlyCrumb · 28/11/2024 22:17

Another vote for NARS also.

LoafofSellotape · 28/11/2024 22:33

Rimmel Multi Tasker is pretty great imo, best I've tried since the wonderful Revlon pink eye primer was discontinued.

AesopsMables · 29/11/2024 06:28

It's pricey but it's the best I've tried.
Haus Labs Concealer. There's something in this formula that prevents it from creasing and appears to not only cover my shadows, it stays in place all day.
If you go on the Haus Labs website to help select your shade. Then. Purchase from Sephora as it's 20% off at the moment.

AesopsMables · 29/11/2024 06:29

I do use their concealer brush to apply also.

Marmaladegin · 29/11/2024 06:50

Oh and @thedevilinablackdress - maybeline sky high mascara. Gentle but won't budge. Also comes in purple which is great if you have green eyes

MissyBB · 29/11/2024 07:10

For dark purple and blue under eyes try Bobbi Brown colour corrector in bisque. The round tub corrector rather than the tube.
This was recommended to me by a makeup artist and and I never went back. You only need a tiny amount so it doesn't crease. You can add a concealer on top if needed too. Lancome concealer is very good or Boots hydroluminous. I have extremely dark circles too and look ill unless covered.

WoahThreeAces · 29/11/2024 07:12

I'm 47 and I hate my dark circles. I picked up an NYX Pro Fix Stick in the boots bargain tub for £1 and it's been my favourite product so far! It's not AMAZING but nothing I have tried has been!

boredm · 24/06/2024 21:43

I've never had makeup that works. But I have had dark circles reduce taking vitamins, and I never knew I needed them

Which vitamin vitamins do you take for this please?

I find this one really good

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 29/11/2024 19:14

@notmyrealname101 I use the Maybelline concealer... and agree it actually works! I'm approaching 60 and it made my dark circles disappear.

Yes isn't it great? I've tried a lot over the years and this is one of the best

Crankyaboutfood · 30/11/2024 00:06

i use bobby brown peach pencil color corrector and it’s great

EvelynBeatrice · 30/11/2024 11:41

I saw that this post is still going. To possibly spare anyone the expense, I read somewhere that CACI facials are superb for under eyes as well as general firming. I purchased a course.

No! Seemed to make my under eye area more prominent and worse! A skilled operator too. I recouped the rest of the abandoned course on manicures!
