It's a wedding in south of France in Aug so will be hot. Bride said her teens are wearing trousers and shirts with trainers. Is this too casual

Dress 1 is a summer dress and I personally wouldn't think suitable for a wedding anywhere other than barefoot on the beach! Dress 2 might be passable, but looks very short IMO. Is the wedding in a church then a meal in the chateau? Unless you are very short, I'd wear something longer that covered the knees. I have no idea why your daughter said its too evening? Its a wedding! Other than black tie, what other event is more formal?

lol yes I am very short and it comes below the knee

Everything in chateau we are staying there too. There is a teeny chapel or I've seen pictures of the wedding being held outside too

Silk occasion dresses from Rixo London

Way beyond my budget I'm afraid thought they do look lovely. I love Rixo. The bonas one has no sleeves and I have to have them

Have a look on vinted for silk dresses, you might pick up a bargain or try renting a designer dress from the Hurr collective.

Dress 2 will be fine, it's definitely not too dressy. Dress 1 is way too casual.

I like the second one. Nice pattern! Looks as if you’ve made an effort.

I like the first one too, but maybe for the next day/travel home. It is too casual for the wedding itself.

Dress no 2. You may be a bit hot during the day - given the lining - but will definitely move effortlessly into the evening. Plus the integral lining means you don't have to wear a Slip; with possible static and sweaty issues!
