After my first c-section my tummy went pretty much back to normal after about a year of podding out a bit above the scar. When I got thinner it looked ok, but I've now had a second c-section,my baby is eleven months old .I am still a stone over my normal(!) weight,so this isn't helping but I have a horrible almost u-shaped roll that sticks out above the scar.I can see the scar if I stand in front of a mirror but not when looking down from above because of this roll of flabby dough. Its as though I'm wearing ridiculously tight pants and I hate it as it shows through clothes. Is this it now? am I stuck with the wreckage? I hate it so much it is even putting me off a third baby.My tummy in general looks a bit crepey and flubby but its the roll that is freaking me out-all advice welcome, anyone else had two sections?

Yes, I've had two c/s. The physio at the hospital said that with the right core strengthening exercises you can get a flatish stomach again. Might be worth checking that your tummy muscles are okay first though, some peoples separate during pregnancy - has anyone checked yours?

There is a book called something like Cesearian Recovery with lots of exercises, might be worth trying. Or yoga / pilates.

I read on a c-section website that a lot of it has to do with how you're sewn back up; whether they sew the layer of sub-cutaneous fat or not.

I've had two sections and have a lovely overhang now. I'm trying not to stress about it too much as I still have a way to go before I'm back o my pre-pg fitness.

mind you, my sister also has an overhang and she has had two VBs, so maybe it's genetic?

My muscles did separate, and I am trying some basic pilates every morning, but the fat sewing thing makes the most sense looking at my body.I can see that my tummy is generally flattening out again muscle-wise but the scar indents and sort of pulls across in a way that is more to do with the scar itself than muscle tone ,like tying a piece of elastic really tightly arounnd yourself, however slim or toned you would still have something sticking out above the eastic-thats what I look like and why it shows through clothes,my tummy doesn't hang over the scar-it sticks out.God I hate it.
