Is Gok Wan a genius?

Have just watched How to Look Good Naked and am left feeling like wouldn't it be great to have him around on a morning. Serious issues about wobbly bits and stretchmarks in worrybum's household.

He really does make you feel good. Haven't watched it recently but I really admired him in the first series. The only bit I didn't like was him throwing away all the knickers that weren't either sexy ones or control ones. That's where being a man is his downfall. He doesn't understand the importance of PERIOD KEKS.

gigglewitch · 08/04/2008 21:33

is he a genius then? I'll take your word for it.
One thing I do think though - you'd be in a bit of a fix trying to get him to your place in a morning... he must surely spend til lunchtime looking at himself in the mirror?

StressTeddy · 08/04/2008 21:35

I lurve him. My bangers have never felt so good since watching him on tv!!!
He has now become a "desired person at my imaginary dinner party!!"

gigglewitch · 08/04/2008 21:35

he is a sweetie though. such a positive way with people.

MissChief · 08/04/2008 21:37

he loves women, that's his genius imho! I know he's gay but he genuinely seems to enjoy hanging out with women, really revels in it. Found his S Times intervierw with his sis v touvhing.

Crystaltipsandalaistar · 08/04/2008 21:40

I loved the short curly hair - makes me want to cut mine.

worrybum · 08/04/2008 21:41

oh no gigglewitch don't take my word for it. I mean, is he a genius? Does he MAKE you look good naked or just make you THINK you look good naked. Either way I don't think anyone but him could make me feel confident about ''getting my bangers out'' as he calls it. In fact, if i ever announced i was 'getting my bangers out' in our household DH would think 'great i'm getting sausage and mash for dinner'. They are seriously kept under wraps at the mo.
Snowleopard think all of mine could be classed as period keks, maybe I should ring up Channel 4 to take part in next series????

genius?
I doubt it
just plain old common sense if you ask me

and you did

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 08/04/2008 21:51

I WANT control pants So what is the general consensus on belts? Those twins looked FAB with wide belts and pencil skirts. My waist is still there but not as much as it was pre-dc, could definitely do with defining it.

staryeyed · 08/04/2008 22:38

Touche eclat is crap.

Gok Wan did an amazing job on those girls tonight.

That benefit stuff looked interesting.

paddingtonbear1 · 08/04/2008 22:42

I've only just started watching his show.
I love him already!

noddyholder · 08/04/2008 22:44

He seems a nice man but don't think he knows much about style always looks really tacky and over accessorised

Tommy · 08/04/2008 22:46

I really enjoyed this one tonight. I have horrible stretch marks too and feel really crap about my body so he does "inspire" me a bit. I don't usually programmes like this but he does seem to bring out the best in people.
Looking good naked is surely mostly about how you feel isn't it worrybum?

DiabloCody · 08/04/2008 22:47

eclat is just expensive crapola - i have one that never use as it dries the skin around my eyes, okish in nose, chin and lips.

those girls looked good in very glam clothes which won't be wearing everyday.

I would like to look good every day not just for night outs!

noddyholder · 08/04/2008 22:54

A big fat arse draped in organza is no good on the school run

good point diablo. I wear jeans and T shirts and comfy shoes all the time although I put my slightly higher heels boots on for Sundays

There's no point me being dressed up every day as
a) I can't afford a whole new wardrobe
b) I don't have time to think about the whole style and beauty thing in the mornings and
c)my clothes often end up getting covered in sick, snot, any other bodily excretion, dust, food etc etc....

But I do like the way he gives women confidence

DiabloCody · 08/04/2008 23:15

I am sure the production team also tells them ALL the time how brill they are, this and that-it's all VERY MEDIA DAARRRLING!

Great for the women but it is just a tv show. Be nice to hear from the women after the cameras and production team have disappear from their lives if the they can carry it on.

He is a very charismatic man!

DiabloCody · 09/04/2008 10:29

Ah, already reports in the media that he is a twat to female models.

Gok, i would like to be empowered but not with just having my hair curled, wearing red lipstick and wearing tight skirts.

We are just being empowered by being dolls! Bah!

Carmenere · 09/04/2008 10:36

Didn't someone who had been on the show come on here and say that he was totally lovely and caring and used to ring her to make sure she was ok even after the show?

Moomin · 09/04/2008 19:31

By 'media' are we talking Dail hateMail?

A colleague of mine had a friend who used to work with him when he worked in personnel or PR or somesuch. SHe was in the Manchester office and he in the London one. She loved it when she had to speak to him on the phone as his opening line would always be along the lines of 'Hello, gorgeous - you've made my day. What you wearing? Bet you look FABULOUS!" etc.

It's simple but it works!!
