Capsule holiday wardrobe.

I know this has been done to death please advise me.
I'm packing a holiday capsule to fit into a 10kg carry on bag.
What do you take?
Is it 2 of everything?
So...
2 dresses.
2 Trousers,
2 Sets Swimwear
2 shirts
2 shorts?
A few tops?
A Skirt?
2 cover ups?
Is that about right?
I seem to have a number of dresses & crochet items as extras. They're not going to get worn in the UK so this is my only chance for wear 🤔

I don't pack in terms of items, I pack in terms of outfits. For a week I would need 7 evening outfits and 7 day outfits. Plus two sets of swimwear.

Trousers and shorts I might wear the same pair twice, but usually not tops. Not if it's hot anyway.

@MidnightMeltdown & @Innerdesign yes I've pretty much done what both of you have suggested. Unfortunately it's 21° & drizzly today. So I'm wearing yesterday's black linen trousers, a t shirt & a sweatshirt. The cleaners forgot to leave a quilt & I was freezing in bed last night with only a sheet. So I wore my sweatshirt all night & full on pjs. The air con. is needed to cancel out the church bells, otherwise I'm woken up every hour. Forecast's hot for the rest of the week luckily.

You're planning on sitting in a hot tub all day, in Mallorca, in the summer?

I'm a terrible packer, I'm staying in a hotel and will want to change in evening

I have 23kg allowance

I’m currently packing for 10 days in Majorca, I’ve got 22kg luggage allowance and will be making the most of it.

Vest tops and shorts don’t stay fresh long when you’re in the hot sun and generally lathered in sun cream. And I like some different options for the evening.

Hand luggage only is not my idea of a holiday!

It's different if you've got a washing machine.

We just got back from 10 days in Majorca and I tried to do a version of a capsule wardrobe. I bought some new bits in neutral colours and patterns and took;

3 x linen shorts (denim, cream and black)
3 x T-shirts (one striped, one black one white)
3 x vests (2 white and 1 black)
1 x long wrap skirt (brown white and black pattern)
2x day dresses (pale blue Tshirt dress, black midi shift dress)
3 x evening dresses
1 x white linen shirt which I used mainly as a beach cover up
1 x bikini
1 x swimsuit

… and spent the afternoon of day 7 in the launderette 🤣 granted I had also underestimated how much mess the DC would make of their clothes but I also went through my own stuff so quickly. I’ll definitely take more next time. I’m not a minimalist person it seems!

I would love to be the sort of person who can manage with two pairs of knickers and a tooth brush, but that’s just not me!
