Order and return

I believe I may have an issue with ordering clothes and shoes, liking them but then returning as "I don't really need them" as they won't get the wear or I will be cluttering up my room.
Today as an example, 2 jumpsuits arrived exactly the same, one in navy and the other in black. Both look good and I really like the navy which I could wear to a birthday meal this weekend. However, I am thinking I won't get the wear and can wear a blouse and trousers I already have in my wardrobe.
I feel it's wasteful not to get a good amount of wear from each piece.
Do I carry on in this manner, friends have wardrobes of clothes suitable for all occasions.

Yes, really try to limit your time online shops, buying impulse purchases.

Make a seasonal list of needs and wants, get the needs first, then really think about the things you want. The 'needs' might just be boring underclothes, or basic t-shirts. You may save yourself money, and have a more organized wardrobe.

I have started doing the same. I’m returning much more than I keep, but I like the fact I can order in a whim, try on and then decide if I’m keeping or not. Sometimes I like the item but can’t justify keeping it as it will only get worn once (if at all). I recently reduced my wardrobe down, getting rid of a lot of things I rarely wore. I mainly live in the same 3 outfits 😬

I feel that I don't need the extra clothes that won't get a good amount of wear from them.
I have all the basics covered and spend time looking at what would be useful. Then it arrives and I think it won't get the use and return it.

The best way to do this is not look at sites unless you have made up your mind you really need or want something. I tend to buy most of my clothes in shops because I can try on loads but only buy what I really want (though even then I might over buy and take some back later).

But if I don't go to the shops, I can go months without buying anything. Seeing something is to be tempted.

Also operate a one in, one out, policy. New dress, get rid of an old one etc. Or get rid first so you do "need" something new.

That's not really dealing with the issue? Serial returns are linked with shopping issues. You get the thrill of finding an object, try it on, and return. And then repeat with no intention of buying.... no wonder companies are starting to charge for returns.

I agree the best way to deal with this is not to browse unless you really need something. Unsubscribe from all marketing emails so you're not tempted.

I never order anything unless I'm sure I really want it. Not need it, but want it. The only time I return anything is if it doesn't fit- and usually even that's because I knew , if I were being honest I should have gone for a bigger size and I return it for an exchange. I'm returning a jacket today to exchange for a size up. I'm sure it will go back into stock.
