Aging eyes help

Contemplating botox around eye area but would rather try creams first
My crows feet are insanely bad. I've also noticed my under eye getting a bit 'crepey'.
To be honest, I don't have a great skincare routine at all. I'm late 30's.

Any magic solutions out there for my eye are? And possibly a simple skin are routine.

Xx

I’m twice your age, with a few crows feet lines -I doubt your crows feet are insanely bad!

Karatema · 13/06/2024 14:51

I've had horrendous bags under my eyes since your age but crows feet and wrinkles have been kept in check by No 7 serum. I'm in my 60s and regularly told I look younger and No 7 is the only thing I apply to my face regularly 😀

Tvontheblink · 13/06/2024 15:24

@Bignanna Good for you. Obviously different skin.

I was going to be helpful, but seeing your response to other people, I won't.
Try a skincare routine.

Tvontheblink · 13/06/2024 15:50

@Karatema great, any no 7 serum in particular?

I've used it from the time it was recommended on a BBC programme (probably in the 1990s!) I now use the Protect and Perfect Advanced plus, when I have time, the Youthful Eye serum but it's not to everyone's liking.

They are on 3 for 2 at the moment so I've been in to my local Boots to stock up. Remember it's cheapest item free 😀

Oh give over! The OP asked for some skincare recommendations and someone by-passed the question entirely with a humble-brag to say she was 'twice your age with a few crows feet'. I'd be a bit '🤔with that response too.

OP I second the No7 Repair and whatever serum too. Also love Nathalie Bond face oils - they are light and really seem to plump-up my skin. And I'm not someone who spends ages with a skincare routine. Hope that helps.....

Make sure you are drinking plenty and staying well hydrated.

Apileofballyhoo · 13/06/2024 17:25

Gentle cleanser, hydrating serum, moisturiser, stand alone broad spectrum sunscreen of at least 30, reapplied every 2 hours if in the sun. That crepey look is dehydrated or dry skin.

Retinol (this is also drying so you need to have your hydrating and moisturising products sorted out first) or prescription tretinoin.

Foreo Bear or similar device.

bloodyeffinnora · 13/06/2024 18:17

yes, I also use no.7 future renew and a face oil, I've also started using an LED mask, which I think is improving my skin.

PortiaWithNoBreaks · 13/06/2024 18:24

Try a retinol eye cream. As well as diminishing lines it helps to thicken the skin by encouraging more collagen production. I like Dr Sam Bunting’s range which is not too pricey.

if you’re going to use a retinol then you must wear spf.

There was nothing wrong with OPs reply to that comment, op asked for advice and was not given any, only told that someone twice her age has very few crows feet. That comment was not very helpful to OP

atotalshambles · 13/06/2024 19:34

I also recommend the Sam Bunting range and also the new Boots No 7 range. I have CACI facials which are great. If you want something more drastic then I am guessing botox would be good or polynucleatides under the eye (rather than something like filler) but they would be £££

Kitjenkinl · 14/06/2024 08:33

Op you’re okay, I didn’t get the brag post either.

Try and drink enough water, do you sleep okay? I’m your age and my lines look worse when I’ve not slept well. I’ve never found an eye cream that does much I just take my moisturisers up to under my eye but not sure that’s right.
