What socks are bed socks?

A colleague has mentioned bed socks today but we are not close enough for me to explore the topic further. None of my socks are good for sleeping in - sports too tight, footsies just no, winter merino socks too scratchy, winter walking socks too hot. Clearly, there is a whole new exciting category to explore.

Please share a few links, what would you recommend as bed socks?

I have some lovely alpaca bed socks.

I have some from Sea Salt. Soft, stripey and 3 for 2. Just checked website and I can’t find them so it may be they only do them in winter.

I go for the same, but made with normal sock wool.
I hate cold feet, and our bedroom is an icebox.

Got to be cashmere! Nothing warms like it but don’t want sweaty feet with any unnatural fibres. As PPs have said though, if you wear them with boots they’ll be holey in an hour :(

To me they are fluffy socks, not too much elastic round the top ( so they don’t dig in ) could never wear with shoes. How depressing that I'm wearing some right now (and I've got a hot water bottle). In June.

I actually like the cheap fuzzy ones. Wool makes me itch.

Same! The Primark ones are great, I always get given some for Xmas 😂

I'm given Primark type ones every Christmas. They're lovely inside my sheepskin UGG slipper boots in cold weather.

I leave my regular socks on. As long as they don't slip off or have tight elastic in them they're fine.

Having said that, there is a delight in stepping into a brand new pair of socks.

Heatholders or the fluffy ones from primark.

Anything that's fluffy and fleecy on the inside and not too tight will do the job.

I think I'm wearing the same ones right now. Perfect bed socks! So soft and don't slip off 😄

Merino wool socks should t be scratchy unless they’re mixed with something else like nylon. Pure wool socks are super soft and warm but for real luxury pure cashmere can’t be beat. I make my own socks to fit me perfectly though so don’t use store bought ones.

I stock up every year at my local WI Christmas fayre - hand knitted. Love them!
