I've done a search and a few posters had tried this/were waiting for results.

Any updates?

I'm thinking of ideas for my upper lip..... it looks a bit pursed even when im trykng to relax. 'Smokers lines' although I don't smoke. I'm 46.

I had this at Rita Rakus in April and going back for another appointment next week. It's defo not a dramatic change, and I also had ultracel at the same appointment, but I am feeling really good at the moment, and like I look fresher, if that makes sense. I don't want to look younger, but I felt a bit knackered and haggard at the start of the year, and I don't feel like that now. So maybe it's that! I'm 48 btw. Not sure if that's at all helpful! Also I've had quite a few people express surprise at my age recently, and that doesn't usually happen, ha. As I say, I'm happy to look 48, I just want to look like a healthy, well rested version of 48!

Unless you want to look like an alien for about a week, with very visible lumps known and blebs all over the treated area, and some bruises, I wouldn’t recommend them. Even with anaesthetic cream, the injections sting. You need 3-4 treatments with several days downtime. Don’t think you’d want to go into work like that!
After one treatment I’ve decided not to continue. I don’t think my poor skin can take it! It’s not cheap, either at £323 per treatment. Then, you need maintenance treatments every 6 months or so. If it wasn’t so traumatic , I might have continued, as apparently results can be good.
The thing with all these non surgical treatments is, it’s often a lot of money for very little difference, and people of a certain age ( like me!) will always be desperate enough to try it.

OP Retinol is good for lip lines but it will take some time to see a difference. Fillers can be used along the top lip, but can give a heavy look. Laser can help, apparently

Can you recommend a brand and how often do you use it, how do you apply it, how does it work etc please.

I use Dermatica on subscription. I just use a little Tretinoin above the top lip, not on the lip itself. If you contact them you can have a free personalised consultation, and they’ll explain it to you.

Bloody hell that's expensive! Was it in London?

Newyearnewmewoooop · 24/04/2025 22:45

I have had it, literally should have just set £1000 on fire for all the good it did.
