Is it waxing, bleaching, or creams?

If it's waxing, do you get stubble (which sounds gross) when it comes back?

I think I want to do mine but am scared of the re growth.

I've not got loads but it's been bothering me lately.

I always use a cream, especially for the face.

Very simple, no pain, regrowth is slow and soft (no man stubble!). Boots own is very good.

I wax and don't have any problems with stubble.

You can pick up great pots of wax in Boots, don't use the ready to use strips - don't work!

Thanks./l

What does it look like when its coming back?

And does it discolour your skin. I've noticed a few people with a yellowy tinge to the area.

If it doesn't come back as stubble how does it grow back?

leave it leave it leave it! I have started to think I am feeling fuzz, but my sister has hers waxed and the beautician says she should have left it. Unless I guess other people can see it. I can only see mine when I squint, tuft it up and turn my head so light shines on it, but now I know it's there it's bugging me.... but I know i'll regret waxing it. Is it white or dark?

wax it

WaxOrNot · 07/04/2008 17:23

Oh no!! Why should she have left it??

It's dark. but that makes it sound awful. I dont think it is that bad but I don't like it. I keep looking out for it in photos.
Maybe everyone notices it and are too kind to say

Threading is better than waxing, if you can find somewhere that does it. I get spots for about a week after having my upper lip waxed.

WaxOrNot · 07/04/2008 17:27

That looks so painfull though

I can't use creams so I wax. The hair grows back quite soft - you won't get stubble unless you shave, because stubble is the thick, blunt edge you're left with after shaving. You don't get that with waxing.

I have to wax, otherwise I look like the bearded lady from some freak show. But I don't have discoloured skin, or anything else caused by waxing.

I found threading more painful than waxing because they take each hair out one by one. With waxing it's just a short, sharp sting, and it's all done within a couple of minutes.

alarkaspree · 07/04/2008 17:41

It is painful. I can't deny it.

WaxOrNot · 07/04/2008 17:49

I don't know what to do. If I wasn't embarrased I'd say look at my profile and tell me what you think. But I'm in disguise with a name change.

I have upper lip and eyebrows threaded - marvellous.

I don't find the threading that painful - a good therapist will be super fast and take out more than one hair at a time. Mine takes seconds.

If you want to get rid it, then it might be an idea to try different techniques to see which suits you best. I've tried them all and prefer threading.
