Ive embraced the grey, its very light, and its taking on yellow on the ends

I have Seborrhoeic Dermatitis , Ive always needed to use H&S to keep it at bay and as Ive gotten older have had to up the anti using their scalp treatments

Every purple shampoo I have tried has left my scalp dry, scabby and sore. Some have even made my face break out

So any recommendation for a shampoo for me? Tried and tested? Im looking online and some are ridiculously ( to me ) expensive but Im willing to try if I know Im unlikely to get a reaction

I have psoriosis and get on ok with Fanola. I use regular shampoo Faith in Nature as a first cleaning wash then use Fanola as a second wash for the colour. Its very highly pigmented so I don't use a lot, just a pea sized amount. Its a massive bottle so will last for months.

I use a vosene for the fist shampoo and Schwarzkopf live silver shampoo for the second and it does a decent job of keeping my scalp under control and my grey grey. Both are free of silicones which really set my scalp off.

Aleppo soap made of laurel oil works well as a shampoo and appears to helpful for some people who have eczema. Just don't get in the eyes as it stings

I have this, and tried again this week, Ive now got blisters around my ears and my face looks like Ive stuck it in a fire :(

This is the reality of so many shampoos and me :( H&S seriously is the only one that I havent reacted to.

This is exactly what I do. I was checking Amazon the other day and I bought my bottle of Fanola in Dec 2021 and I still have over half a bottle left (using once a week).

But just as an added thing OP - could you just put the purple shampoo on the ends and keep away from your face/scalp somehow?

I like the Aussie purple shampoo and conditioner. Doesn’t dry my hair.

Im going to look at the Fanola but I will also see if I can work something into the ends only, right now I dont have the time ( as in right now life is so busy a quick shower is about the height of it ). Ive a marathon next weekend, Ill try get something sorted for the recovery days that Ive booked off and give it a go.

My trouble is I work in hospitality and there is cooking oil from the pans in the air all the time . Nothing changes the colour of grey hair quicker then cooking oil. You see how quick a fat fryer collects the baked on grease, my hair does the same

Oh I can imagine. Mine gets yellow due to straighteners but only at the front ends so it’s not too bad.

I wonder if you could use some foil like they do when highlighting to keep it away from your skin..check there’d be no reaction with the foil first though! If not, maybe a bit of cling film might work if it was tied on. And then rinse away from your face.

Great ideas, thankyou

Knew the posters on here would come up with something Id not thought off

Trouble is, because I know I have reactions to these shampoos, sometimes right away, other times I might get away with 3 to 4 uses before all hell breaks out, I have just convinced myself - no can do. But yes, foils or wrap will keep it off my face and I can always slap vasaline on my face as a barrier

Thankyou so much for the ideas xxx
