Anyone specialise in swimming costumes that are longer in the body than average? Not massively longer - I'm 5'10 but have most of my height in my torso rather than legs iykwim.

Am only 5'3" but all costumes I try on are way too short in the body

i think M&S does that type of swimsuits but whether they still do it now. youre better off going in a big M&S and try them on

TuttiFrutti · 07/04/2008 13:45

Long Tall Sally and Land's End are both good for long bodies.

biglips · 07/04/2008 13:45

and there a few of them on the website

TracyK · 07/04/2008 14:03

I thought I'd seen long bodies somewhere other than LTS - it was Lands End - I'll have a quick look.

I got a gorgeous one from Boots a couple of years ago - halter neck - starts off lovely but then the boob cups end up dragging down!

I have this problem too, and I've always ended up buying swimsuits several sizes up (i.e. a size 16 as I'm a 12). This seems to do the trick - but I'll admit I only buy one-pieces for 'serious' swimming (this from the girl who hasn't been to the pool in about 5 years!) so they are the stretchy speedo type rather than more 'constructed' fashionable versions with cups etc. I guess that wouldn't work so well

Agree that trying them on is a must. Tho' several stiff drinks always needed before venturing into changing room. How is it that even if you look at yourself naked and think 'Well, could be worse I guess' once you have the swimsuit on you are ready to cry?

Lands End have got a few in the sale

I can vouch for the fact that they fit really well, and last amazingly - I've had a tankini from them that has lasted 7 years now.

TracyK · 07/04/2008 14:35

thanks cmot - have ordered the halterneck one - better price at £29.

WaxOrNot · 07/04/2008 17:13

do you need to order it in uk sizes? it says us sizes on the website.

cmotdibbler · 07/04/2008 17:56

You order in US sizes- which makes the labels most pleasing

WaxOrNot · 07/04/2008 18:02

So if I'm a 12 I order an 8??

cmotdibbler · 07/04/2008 19:12

Thats right - they aren't skimpily cut either, so are reliable sizing

DJCod · 07/04/2008 19:14

BHS do long body

Anna8888 · 08/04/2008 10:29

Eres do fantastic swimsuits for every body type.

Think 200 - 300 euros, though.

Minum · 08/04/2008 20:47

perfect shape but would love to have it in nice colour/pattern - any suggestions ?
