I know I’m late to the party, but Uniqlo bags…

Right. So, I’ve seen them about, thought ‘they look useful’ but have had no need for one really.

However, I’m in the market for a new bag (actually two, but I’ll wait until winter for my next one!) and thought it might be useful. But I am quite particular 🤪 so need to ask a few questions as we don’t have a Uniqlo shop locally!

Therefore, can you guys help?

  1. how spacious is it? I need to fit kindle, suncream, sanitary stuff, and a mini water bottle and maybe a few bits of makeup in or my headphones in it.
  2. how hard wearing are they? Basically I want to be able to pull on, and trot around for miles digging in and out and not worry about strap breaking. *looks at current bag.
  3. Are they comfortable? Especially with stuff in, or are they actually just made for a few bits like your phone and a lipstick and that’s it?

This is the one I’m looking at for the summer > https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/round-mini-crochet-bag-468659.html?dwvar_468659_size=SIZ999&cgid=IDbags1551

If you don’t think it would work, do you have any suggestions? It’s for walking around hot cities for days on end.

Thanks in advance x

Primark are selling their beige coloured dupes for £4 at the moment. I bought one on Friday. I'm going to use it on holiday next week - if I like it I might buy one of the Uniqlo ones as well.

For me they are slightly too small, but I have a son who always needs tissues, wet wipes or for me to carry his toy/pokemon cards, so I carry a cloth bag as well on days out. They are very comfy and I'm going to purchase a blue one and a purple one soon. I pop mine in the washing machine when they get dirty so they're supper handy in that sense.

@BusterGonad more expensive but a more weatherproof and slightly bigger option is a White stuff Sebby bag. White stuff often have discounts.

Thank you.
Really I should just get my son to carry a bag for himself! 😂

The primark ones hold less. They are narrower at the base than the Uniqlo original and don’t expand as much. I have a black Uniqlo and a cream primark and the difference in size is noticeable

Thank you everyone! I'm now trying to decide which colour! I'm thinking this is my treat this week if i'm not grumpy about work!

I have two Uniqlo nylon ones and love them. Got a sainsburys version in leopard print last week!

purpledagger · 10/06/2024 19:18

i have the courderoy bag in olive and i'm eyeing up a quilted version for winter.

i use mine for regularly when i have to commute to Central London for work. i also have a backpack, but the uniqlo bag is so handy for valuables.

Tillygan60 · 10/06/2024 19:22

I have uniqlo navy and sainsburys black....the sainsburys one is quilted, which looks better, and is slightly bigger so holds a bit more.
I use the sainsburys one more but both are great and fit a load of stuff easily!

I’ve got a nylon one and a cord one, the latter was a present.

The only thing I don’t like about them is I feel they could be a bit bigger.

In both I can get:-

bottle of water
small purse
small hairbrush
perfume
credit card sized sanitiser
bits and pieces more, eg snack bars.
keys

I’ve only really used both at home but have used when commuting sometimes too.

TheHullabaloo · 10/06/2024 21:34

My Dd fits her raincoat in hers, along with phone, headphones and hairbrush, I think she might be Mary Poppins 🤔

wheresmyshoe · 11/06/2024 08:02

I have the olive cord one and will get the crochet one. It's brilliant! I fits so much stuff and very comfortable to wear. Exceeded my expectations in quality and functionality.

norasand · 11/06/2024 08:30

My daughter lives in hers! She carries everything including toothbrush, spare knickers and t-shirt for a sleepover after a night out. Definitely a Tardis 😄

BigButtons · 11/06/2024 14:01

I have 2 primary versions and absolutely love them. You can get soooo much in them!

Dal8257 · 11/06/2024 14:15

I have both the nylon one and the crochet one. Both would fit a kindle and fit around the same amount of stuff inside. I find the normal nylon one sits better when worn, especially when the bag is full.
