Rosacea

Does anyone have anything that will help get rid of my rosacea? I'm really struggling with it, it's just one cheek but other than covering it, I don't know what else to do. I have all the sensitive skincare stuff but it just seems to stick around!

You could try azaleic acid, it helped mine!

QuiteAJourney · 08/06/2024 18:56

Rosacea can be quite diferent from person to person...and quite stubborn.
Personally I find that metrodinazole (you would need a prescription) once a day and REN moisturiser for sensitive skin does the trick for mine. Occasionally I need to use a small course of antibiotics.
For Coverage bare minerals or Lily Lolo work for me, better than creams.

You can get metronidazole without a prescription with skin and me, they also can mix azaleic acid with it too

On all the rosacea threads, soolantra is the most recommended

MojoMoon · 08/06/2024 23:51

Soolantra - you will need a GP appointment

stayathomer · 08/06/2024 23:57

Vichy is amazing for coverage (and I use Aimee Connolly primer) I use Cetaphil gentle skin wash and avene skin soothing cream. Spf le Roche posay but I’d have a larger area of redness but no bumps or spots. Saying that as people said above Soolantra is always recommended. Best of luck, I went through a lot of different products before it calmed down

lemongirl1985 · 09/06/2024 19:23

Soolantra didn't work for me at all and I had to fight for it before my gp prescribed it.
I'm on 3rd month of skin and me course and the difference is amazing!! If you sign up but don't pay immediately they will send you a reminder to finish checkout and a code so you only pay £4.99 for first month!
I don't bother ordering the moisturiser or serum, only the daily doser and pay £24.99 for a monthly supply. Pricey but so worth it for me.

Soolantra worked for me and it’s stayed away for 5 years. Took about 3 months of using it daily if I remember? You can go to a gp or do an online pharmacy (I did that but it was five years ago so not sure if you still can).

Turtles4543 · 09/06/2024 19:28

Soolantra, I got mine from Superdrug online pharmacy

TulipTuesday · 09/06/2024 19:35

My rosacea was very much like yours and on just one cheek too.

I’d heard good things about Soolantra so I sent photos to the online appointment thing for my GP and just said ‘I’d like to try Soolantra’ The GP replied saying ‘as that’s an appropriate treatment for roseacea I’m happy to prescribe without an appointment’

I can’t remember how long it took to clear up but I’ve still got most of the original tube left so haven’t had to use much at all.

I still get the odd flare up on hot days but it’s loads better.

bloodyhellKen22 · 11/06/2024 11:11

Thank you so much everyone, will send a message to my gp tomorrow.

It's hard to tell from the photo but is it tiny broken capillaries? If so you can have them lasered away if you wanted to. You probably know already but too much oil/moisturiser is also bad for rosacea. Good luck

TeamPolin · 12/06/2024 19:19

I've been using The Ordnary Azaleic Acid cream for about 2 months and I'm getting great results. Skin looks much less angry and not getting that burny stinging feeling any more....

@Motherrr that's interesting about using too much oil or moisturizer, I tend to slap it on as my skin feels dry, but then it often looks worse and starts heating up after moisturising. I'm going to try using a bit less. Please can i ask which moisturizer do you use?
