Marrakech outfit ideas

Off to Marrakech in July - mainly resort/pool type holiday but will be heading into the town at least a few times and looking for any outfit inspiration or ideas.
I know it'll be hot! But also know it needs to be not too revealing.
I'm 5'8, on the chunky side - 12/14 and top heavy. I am open to any styles of dress/jumpsuits/separates. I prefer plain/block colour type things rather than loud and crazy patterns although don't mind leopard print!

I went to Marrakesh a couple of weeks ago, so it wasn’t as hot as it will be when you go. I read all of the modest dressing guidelines but from what I noted when we were out exploring it didn’t seem like many people stuck to them. I was quite happy to but I wouldn’t worry if you have a bit of shoulder or knee on display.

I can’t help with links as I just hit Vinted and got a couple of very light cotton shirts to pop over things and wore knee length or column maxi dresses.

Thanks - that's a good idea actually. I have a few sleeveless sundresses and tube maxi type dresses so a thin shirt might be easier than a whole new wardrobe.

Central Marrakech is full of tourists and they don't generally stick to modest dressing.

The locals do.

Plenty of t shirts and shorts, lots of dresses. No need for a new wardrobe at all.

You can't visit mosques as a non-Muslim so no headscarf needed either.

Excellent, things must have changed since I was last there! I went to Morocco in my early 20s and it was super frowned upon to show a lot of leg or shoulder but we weren't in super touristy bits as I went with my Moroccan friend and we stayed with her family.

Still open to summer suggestions in general if anyone has any nice links 😊 I'm much more of an autumn/winter dresser so find summer really hard!

Uniqlo have a lot of summer dresses at the moment.

I have this in a couple of colours.

Was there a few months ago. I wore cotton or linen dresses with short sleeves and on or below the knee. Light scarves for interest. Big hat and sunglasses, cross body bag.
Although Marrakech is quite relaxed I personally prefer not to show a lot of skin.
I bought a few lovely kaftans, scarves and wraps there plus argan oil and black soap.

I'd go linen trousers or shorts, vest top with a white linen shirt over the top.

That "lagenlook" linen look might suit, seem like they have lots of block colours and are cool and airy. Google "made in Italy".

The souk is full of shops selling exactly the kind of thing you’d be likely to feel comfortable in while you’re there.

Was there in February and shopped for things to wear in Greece this summer - gorgeous lightwight maxi dresses. So I’d say pack very light and leave space for bargains.

Light and floaty layering works well. Tourists don't always wear modest dress, but you do become a bit more of a target from the bum pinchers.
I have always gone for loose trousers and vest tops with an overshirt or tunic top. Keep your valuables close too.
Lots of lovely shopping in the souks, so you may find more to wear when you arrive anyway.
Enjoy your trip

I'd just wear loose, lightweight clothing. It's very touristy now. But be very careful about what bag you carry and that it's got a good zip on it. I was v nearly pickpocketed when I was there. And definitely buy black soap, it makes skin feel lovely and soft! And don't be tempted to buy a large leather bag, my partner did, and it smells like feet...😂
