Please help me dress my new boobs!

So after pregnancy and breastfeeding my boobs have just grown and grown from a C/D to a GG cup. I don't know how to dress myself anymore! Anything that fits my boobs is drowning the rest of me and its hard to find anything that isn't so low cut that my bra shows. Anything that fits the rest of my body is too tight in the chest.

I need two dresses for this weekend (one casual and one dressy and bright) and I've tried on so many now and nothing has been fattering. Can anyone who's blessed with bigger boobs please give me a steer? I'm properly stressed now!

What's your band size and dress size? And budget?

Keepingongoing · 07/06/2024 12:10

Fairlie Curved and Pour moi both cater for larger bust. They look like high street , fast fashion but are very inexpensive. Might be possible to get delivered tomorrow if you get a move on? (Pour moi is available through Next)

Longer term if you remain GG cup, finding clothes that flatter your figure will probably become a project, especially if you have a defined waist and/ or small frame. It’s not impossible and I have a few tips.

There are still dresses by Bravissimo, which designed clothes to fit larger bust, for sale on eBay and Vinted, but a bit late to get those by tomorrow probably.

Budget, really just as cheap as possible I guess. Probably couldn't spend more than £60 per outfit as I need to get two outfits.
Band size is 40 and I'm usually an 18 in clothes. My legs are skinny and I do have a waist but I carry all my weight in my arms and bust.

I have had this type of figure, large bust, ever since my teens. The other parts of my body have never been in proportion. I've found the best dresses fit my bust and come in snugly straight underneath and then are reasonably "floaty". Empire line. I even used to make my own when I was younger. Definitely not shirt waisters, which tend to look like a sack tied in the middle. If you want to cover up a bit more in the cleavage area, get some double sided tape, (Boots or Amaxon) and and stick the dress to your skin or underwear.

Are you sure on a 40? Have you been measured?

At a 20/22 I was a band size 36 with J cups. I'd bet you measure smaller than a 40

Lavender14 · 07/06/2024 18:12

I measured myself recently so to be fair maybe it's not accurate but my previous (measured) band size was 38 and that has been feeling tight and uncomfortable so I think it's probably right as the bras I got recently have felt much better. I'd been putting off getting anything new until I finished breastfeeding to see what way things were but we're down to one feed a day so I don't see them shrinking too much.

You need dresses that give you a waist, so shirt dresses with a tie belt, wrap dresses that tie to the side, fit and flare dresses or ones with elastic waists so it brings you in. You don't need ones which hang right down from your boobs, or big block colours that will make you look chunky, or high necks that make you look matronly, princess line dresses (flare under bust) make me look pregnant and really don't flatter my waist at all. Patterns work best for me, so ditsy flowers, spots leaves etc. More fitted than lose. T shirt dresses can look good so long as the fit is spot on.
