I'm struggling to decide whether these look nice or silly / awful! I haven't taken the tags off yet so would be grateful for honest opinions

The jumpsuit is from whistles, and the trousers are from mint velvet. If I kept the trousers I'd have them taken up a little

I really like the jumpsuit! Would definitely keep that, it looks great.

The trousers not so much but I don't really like the trend for massive wide legs, so I'm not the right person to comment really! On a practical note though I agree with those saying they're going to need a lot of ironing.

Expanding on bland …

The clothes you’ve shown epitomise Tory Wife - standing by her man outside the gates of your manor house as the press devour him for whatever scandal he’s trying to slide out of. Nice clothes to appeal to nice voters.

I think OP looks great in the jumpsuit but this did make me laugh.

Why don't we have a laugh button??

WhereAreWeNow · 07/06/2024 06:17

I really like the trousers @Dingdong99 - I'd definitely keep them. They look great. Really nice cut and colour.
You look nice in the jumpsuit too but I'm not a big fan of jumpsuits personally so I'm less keen on that option.
Definitely keep the trousers though.

MO2BB · 07/06/2024 06:23

You look amazing in the jumpsuit and far better than the model on the site. If I were you, I’d keep. Not Tory or old ladyish.
Whilst the trousers are nice, I agree with others about the fabric.

FishPhoods · 07/06/2024 06:34

Both look really great on you - where's the top from you're wearing with the trousers?

VictoriaEra2 · 07/06/2024 08:27

Love the trousers

EvilRingahBitch · 07/06/2024 08:32

You look good in the jumpsuit because it's a good fit on you and the colours work well with your colouring but I personally don't like the pattern. When would you wear it? I spend a lot of time looking at what other women wear in various settings and I don't see anyone wearing anything similar (and I don't mean that in a good way).

The trousers are great and very current IMO - a toned down version of the Garment of the Week on last week's Sewing Bee , but the colour and fabric would be high maintenance.

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 07/06/2024 08:49

I don't think the OP looks good in the jumpsuit. For me it's such a horrible, bland piece of clothing I can't get past that. The item doesn't look good - it doesn't matter who is wearing it.

BusyMummy001 · 07/06/2024 09:04

So, you have a gorgeous figure and can clearly wear anything and look good (am jealous!), but am not sure about these.

Not keen on the jumpsuit - the fabric/colour kind of looks like an NHS scrubs uniform; its the sort of thing I’d buy thinking it looks bright and summery but then only wear once because I’ve gone off the pattern - I’m fickle though!

The over-accentuated pleats on the trousers kind of make you look wider there than you need to - those these may soften once it’s been washed/worn? They look like a linen (which I love) but as linen creases like buggery the simpler the cut of the trouser the better the creases look, if that makes sense? I think those could look like a screwed up hanky after you’ve sat in them for a while?

As another PP says, if you have doubts now, probably won’t grow on you.

BobbyBiscuits · 07/06/2024 09:09

They both look great on you. I love the top and trousers. Jumpsuit is bold so might not age well, but looks great on you if you think you'll get enough wear out of it. I'm not being creepy (I hope!?) but you have an amazing figure.

windyweather66 · 07/06/2024 09:12

The jumpsuit looks better on you than the trousers

KirstenBlest · 07/06/2024 11:09

Keep the jumpsuit, return the trousers.
If you're unsure about the jumpsuit, return it, but it looks nice.
The trousers are awful IMO.

OlderandwiserMaybe · 07/06/2024 11:17

I love both! I'd be definitely keeping the jumpsuit i'd probably live in it over the summer!

Trousers are also great - however agree with others the fabric looks problematic so it depends how much l=you like ironing with those i think.

henlake7 · 07/06/2024 11:18

I feel like the OP could rock most things with their figure but Im not sold on the jumpsuit (style ok but pattern is kinda....meh. Like it cant decide if its mumsy or abstract and trendy).
I love the trousers, they would be very much my vibe, I love a wide leg! But Id never buy something that needed alot of ironing (that would mean Id have to actually buy an iron!).

Springwatch123 · 07/06/2024 11:19

The trousers are nice, but not with that top .

Theright1 · 07/06/2024 11:24

Love the top you're wearing with the trousers. Where is it from?

Poggishairtufts · 07/06/2024 11:27

Sorry to hear you're sending them back, I think they're great.

Also wondering where the top is from?

CharlotteBog · 07/06/2024 11:58

My immediate response was that you look great, but then I considered actually going out in the jumpsuit and changed my mind.

I love the trousers but would not team with a blue top. I don't like tops with misplaced buttons.

CharlotteBog · 07/06/2024 12:00

You see, I think the jumpsuit is the opposite of bland, it is quite loud - you'd certainly not blend into the crowd wearing it, at least I don't think I would. I'm pretty tall though.

rookiemere · 07/06/2024 12:19

I think the jumpsuit looks great, but then realised it's the kind of thing that might also look good on me, and I certainly don't have the OPs amazing figure. So I suppose you can afford to be more discerning.

TheOriginalMrsMoss · 07/06/2024 12:35

I absolutely love the trousers - would look great with a ribbed vest or tight T-shirt and a skinny belt mentioned earlier. I think the length is good. Not so keen on the jumpsuit, there's something a bit off and the leg length needs to be shorter or longer.

My rule of thumb is if I want to wear it immediately, it's a keeper. If I haven't worn it in a week (unless evening wear or special occasion) then it goes back.

WomenStuff · 07/06/2024 13:24

Roundroundthegarden · 06/06/2024 19:09

The fit of the jumpsuit looks great on you BUT the print is the problem. I saw the jumpsuit in store and just couldn't put my finger on it.
As I was browsing and someone came in and picked it up. It was an elderly lady and I just realised the print looked very old fashioned. Something about it.

Fine to dislike an item because "old fashioned" but to link the unfavorable opinion with the category of human you saw touching the clothing seems unnecessarily mean. Try replacing "elderly lady" with any other protected characteristic.

Finding a piece of clothing old fashioned, or indeed Fit for a Tory Wife (There's an idea for a brand name...), are opinions on the clothing. But being female and elderly are inherent to that particular human and I feel rather sad that the lady simply touching the fabric could inspire such a strong reaction. I hope I can still wear jumpsuits when I'm elderly! I hope I get to be elderly!

(And OP I think the jumpsuit looks great on you)

Epidote · 07/06/2024 13:25

I would keep the blue one and return the lilac, It is a OK outfit but that pale colour suits you less that the blue.
You look amazing in the blue one BTW in my opinion.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/06/2024 13:30

I think both outfits looks gorgeous on you. However if you liked them you wouldn’t need to be asking for our validation. Therefore I’d probably say send them back.

NoSnowdrop · 07/06/2024 13:33

The jumpsuit really suits you! I’d keep it.

I like the trousers on you. But not with that top. Not sure why tho!
