How to look chic and put together without looking sexual with a curvy hourglass figure

I need a middle ground between frumpy and sexy and I'm really struggling. What I would love to do is look chic, tailored and feel confident in what I'm wearing. I'm mid 40s, 5'11, a size 14/16 with 34J boobs. Because of my size I'm noticed whether I want to hide or not. My budget is mindful of the cost of living but not bottom end.

I would love to ask for help and links to some wardrobe staples that fit curves please!

Following for ideas. My current solution is oversized work wear types clothes with a belt of some description to cinch my waist in a bit, but I think I may actually just end up looking like a modern Rosie the riveter.

There are 2 labels said to be designing for a larger bust:
Pour Moi
Fairlie Curved

But to me, they look too fashion-led rather than staples. I have the same problem, not tall but big bust. Tend to wear figure- skimming tops with cardigan with waist shaping ( if I can find) or loose shirt in summer. I look for tops described as ‘ fitted’ My waist is emphasised visually and doing this paradoxically makes the bust look less dominant. Cashmere cardigans are good because cashmere is stretchy, so snuggles round my curves. There are lots of things I know won’t suit me (eg ‘boxy’ tops…) but I’m older and don’t want to follow trends slavishly. I’ll nod to them with accessories and footwear.

Make sure you have a well fitting bra, too, it makes a big difference to your overall look.
