Does anybody know the Bicester area well?

I can Google, but does anybody have actual knowledge of the area please. I'd like to go to the shopping village at the weekend and my partner has offered to drive me there if I can find somewhere quiet he can work whilst I'm shopping. He just needs a space he can sit and plug in his headphones and use his laptop. He isn't keen on Pret or the other cafes in the village as they will be quite busy and noisy. He's happy to drop me off and drive somewhere else v close by. Often he likes to wander in to a hotel lobby and just sit there quietly working/drinking coffee. Does anyone know of anywhere suitable that could work for him please? TIA

There is a Premier Inn a few minutes away but I'm not sure that would fit the bill.

I agree the cafes at Bicester Village will be incredibly busy on a weekend. How far is he willing to drive? 10 minutes away is a village called Chesterton and there are two hotels there - Chesterton Hotel and Bicester Golf & Spa. They are probably what he is looking for.

There are various cafes at the garden centre at Bicester Avenue. That's much quieter than Bicester Village (and much nicer IMHO too).

Thank you both :)

If he’s a David Lloyd member there is one just up the road from BV and a Starbucks across the road.

Thank you - it looks like (from google) it is a very big Starbucks? this might well fit the bill...

It’s quite big and there is parking outside but you do need to check the parking notices to ensure you don’t overstay etc. Enjoy your shopping!

If he goes into town he could use the library its next to Travel Lodge. The nearest car park is the multistorey above Sainsburys, free for 2 hours, pay for a third hour. Don't overstay, the cameras will pick it up and issue a £80 fine. It is possible to pay for longer but only by using the Horizon App. Nearest long stay carpark is The Old Cattle market carpark. There are also lots of coffee shops in the centre of town which are likely to be quieter and cheaper than anything down in the village. I haven't been in myself but I am told that the Fat Zebra in the market square is particularly nice.

Thank you all for all these great ideas... how lucky you all are to live close to BV. Mind you, I remember going there 25 years ago, and then it really was possible to get a really good bargain. Now a lot of it is still £££, but it is a lovely day out :)

There’s a coffee shop above a Next store on the main road near the Village. I think that’s near the hotels too.

Kingsmere Retail Park - it’s a Costa above it (just double checked).

There is a pub The Acorn on the corner of Pringle Drive. It is a chain place but we have been in there about 5pm and its been quiet
