Best 40 plus fine hair dryer and styler?

If you’ve got 40 plus fine highlighted hair, which styler and/or hair dryer can’t you live without?

I got a Dyson airwrap maybe 5 years ago when they came out, I did like it although never could get hang of curlers but it’s given up so need to get something new.

I have super fine 44 year old hair and the Revlon one step is great for a lovely blow dry, smooth and shiny and gentle.

I use with with hair oil and a blow dry spray.

As for styling I am useless with my fine hair. Curls look straggly however I do them following for tips!

Following! X

The Revlon style booster is good. It's the same as the original One Step but has a smaller brush. Use it on three quarters dried hair, gives a bouncy blow dry.

That’s two clear votes for revlon, thanks!

The Revlon has a four year guarantee too.

Unlike the Dyson! I’m lucky it’s lasted reasonably but it’s crazy that the standard warranty is so short.

And the Dyson is ridiculously expensive.

Particularly as I only use the same brush head as the bigger revlon - in theory it was good but forget that I rarely do much with my hair.

I've got the Dyson hairdryer, and have got a short cropped style with very fine hair. I find I get much better volume into it with the Dyson - when we were on holiday recently and I had to use the one in the holiday let, my hair was a disaster!

Liblabflipflop · 28/05/2024 09:37

I did find Dyson brush easy to use and good volume - I’m useless with styling my hair.

Another lifelong devotee of the Revlon One Step. I would not be without one now!

(I had the Babyliss Big Hair before, but it was a vicious beast intent on snarling my hair into something like the hoover does to dog hair, every time I touched it).

Yes I got the Babyliss Big Hair a few years ago after everyone was raving about it on here. It was a vicious beast. We parted company via eBay.

I’ve got the Revlon one step and like it but I actually think I need an airwrap. The one step fries my hair

LumiB · 28/05/2024 10:25

I've had my parlux hairdryer over 10yrs still working great and find it gives me the volume I need for my fine hair. Bit more pricey but given how long I've had it for it's been value for money

eileandubh · 28/05/2024 13:33

I know it's not exactly what you asked but... I've got fine, thinning curly hair, and made the decision to lean into my curls hard a couple of years ago, and wish I'd done it sooner. Hair looks much thicker after a good chop, and is in better condition now I'm not attacking it with a Babyliss Big Hair/ Airwrap twice a week. Plus curls hide roots much better

Two minutes combing product through soaking wet hair, scrunching, then five minutes diffusing with a Dyson hair drier and it's done.
