Business trip to Iceland wardrobe

I'm off on a business trip to Iceland in a few weeks and I think weather will be cool. Any recommendations of what to wear? Will be mainly hotel based conference with some walking and then evening events which will need to be dressier

very similar to uk this time of year surely

The hotel will be warm. That's what we have always found - thanks to the thermal water heating buildings. I'd go for layers.

Enjoy - it's a beautiful country so I hope you get to go out of the hotel a bit.

A big puffy coat...and very normal clothes under. Not layers. The heating is all geo thetmal so the locals have the heating up super high and just open a window of its too hot!

Zonder · 25/05/2024 18:03

Layers good for outside surely? So you can adjust according to the actual temperature

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 25/05/2024 18:11

The weather will be same as here and possibly wet. Wear what you'd wear for the same but here but make sure you have something waterproof and stout shoes or flat boots for walking, particularly if you get out into the countryside.

needsomestyle · 25/05/2024 18:38

According to google it can be between 9-13 degrees so I think a bit colder than here!

It's boiling inside and cold outside

I just take normal uk business clothes and a proper coat

RacingLine · 25/05/2024 18:40

It also usually v windy so if you would tie your hair up in wind, bring some hair bands!

needsomestyle · 25/05/2024 18:41

I have a smart work wool coat and a smart ish casual coat puffa thing from phase eight with fur hood. Second is waterproof so maybe that one

If you are going outside walking, I would definitely take the puffa. When it's rainy and windy, it can be pretty brutal

I recently went on a business trip to the Arctic and went nuts buying special gear in advance. I hardly needed any of it and just wore normal business clothes (same as in London) around the hotel / conference centre. Plus big puffa coat and snow boots.
