Informal work wear- what would you wear?

Team days ( whole other thread)
Just got an email to say it's informal.
I don't know what to wear.
If it was smart I have smart office clothes.
What would you wear?
No skirts/dresses
Help!

I'd just wear whatever I would normally wear that's not 'office clothes'.

Jeans, boots or ballet flats depending on the weather and environment, plain t-shirt and sweater.
That way I can comfortably take part in whatever nonsense team building activity they want to waste our time with 🙄

Depends how smart the normal office clothes are and what will you be doing on the team day? I'd wear different clothes if I was sitting at a desk all day vs team building doing some sort of physical activity requiring bending/moving/running etc.

  • Comfy flats, capri pants, T-shirt/blouse and a cardigan or casual blazer if chilly
  • Jeans and a blouse, or maybe darker or black jeans to be a little less casual. No torn jeans!
  • Casual jumpsuit

I will be wfh so usually I can wear anything. In my current job if I need to go to the office I wear suit trousers and a smart blouse.
The team day is in the office but 'informal' I'm the only female attending.
I'm thinking black trousers with green stripe and green blouse. And chinos and a blouse. Or maybe jeans .
I have a half sleeve tattoo so prefer to cover it for work.

Even when it says informal for these sorts of things, I tend to wear smart casual although might swap whatever trousers I would usually wear for a pair of jeans. I would prefer to be overdressed in this sort of scenario than too casual

I would usually wear smart casual. So smart jeans or chinos with a nice knit / top and a blazer. Trainers (smart ones) or flats. Hair and make up done.

I agree with the others, that I'd still be smart casual. When I suggested upthread 'casual' jumpsuit, I just meant in comparison to say a formal one you'd wear to a wedding. Not a dungaree type thing I'd wear gardening!

I also WFH and we had a recent, casual away day. Chinos, smart jeans, blazers, dress and cardigan, blouse was the most common things worn.

Ok thanks. It's easier for men . I bet everyone else wears jeans/ chino and a polo shirt
