Laser for sunspots

Newdawnfreedom · 19/05/2024 10:36

Hello lovely women,

Has anyone successfully removed sunspots from their face using laser treatment?

I did a course of IPL for it last year and it barely made a difference. I think now I should have used a different approach like Co2

I don't want to waste any time or money on something ineffective though so would appreciate your accounts

And yes I'm going upstairs to lather the factor 50 on now 😂

@Newdawnfreedom Hello, I was wondering if you had the CO2 eventually? I also had IPL (BBL) and the HALO laser too and they made absolutely no difference so I am looking for something more effective xx

My sunspots have faded a lot with retinol use.

BlackSwan · 01/01/2025 20:10

I had Picosure laser which has helped. As well as repeated rounds of IPL.

Oh this is interesting I have a horrible age spot over my eyebrow and have tried retinol and that age spot serum/moisturiser etc - no change. Was thinking laser?

savvy7 · 01/01/2025 20:18

Be careful as laser can leave a pale spot

I read good things about erbium yag laser but not sure where to go in London

stanleypops66 · 01/01/2025 20:45

I have a course of BBL (3 sessions) then a moxi. I thought the effects were good. I've heard good things about Morpheus.

Chorizmo · 01/01/2025 21:44

Would high strength peel work?

I haven't had Erbium Yag laser - but I see they do it at Dr Joney De Souza in London which is where I had Picosure. I liked the clinic.

OllyBJolly · 02/01/2025 09:33

I had laser treatment - absolutely no difference to the age spots.

F349 · 02/01/2025 10:39

@BlackSwan Thank you I will contact the clinic

F349 · 11/01/2025 09:38

@BlackSwan have you had any other treatment with that clinic? I’m booking a consultation with them next week
Im interested in Erbium or CO2 xx

F349 · 11/01/2025 09:39

@stanleypops66 Did you have the treatments in London?

stanleypops66 · 11/01/2025 13:02

@F349 no I'm based in NI

BlackSwan · 12/01/2025 09:15

Just the Picosure. Worth going & seeing what you think. I had a good experience there. Liked the Dr too - decent manner but also matter of fact & not trying to convince me to do treatments...

I've used the serum - worked pretty well. Mostly gone but not completely. My derm, who recommended the serum but says it only works for some people, said he could burn my sunspot off with liquid nitrogen. Interesting that you're all talking about laser treatment. It's very different. Perhaps laser is much less harsh.

Had targeted laser on several bigger spots on my face about 10 years ago. Was amazing. The spots scabbed over and then came off and skin was clear beneath. It was at the (now defunct) sk:n clinic. I'm not sure that the generalised laser for all over the face is the same thing or works as well.

Which serum did you use?

Tealpins · 12/01/2025 12:57

Eucerin anti pigment - the one you brush just in the spot. Not gone completely but I've not even done two little sticks worth and the worst spot is much harder to see. Worth a try in the first instance.
