What can I do with these eyebrows?

My eyebrows are pretty non-existent and I would like to have some, but only slightly more than I've already got so that I can fill them in a bit when I'm wearing full make up, but have them a bit lighter when I'm not. The last thing I want is mega stand out eyebrows on an otherwise bare face. Is this possible? From what I've seen it's from one extreme to another. Pic attached!

I would try tinting them at home or salon, doesn't last that long but at least it isn't permanent and it adds fullness

NoBrow123 · 17/05/2024 13:46

The hairs themselves are fairly dark, there's just not many of them! Would a tint only darken the hairs?

I’d get them microbladed personally

Bananadramallamas · 17/05/2024 13:50

Avon eyebrow pencil in blonde.

usernother · 17/05/2024 13:53

You can hardly see them so no point in a tint. I'd go for microblading.

DrNo007 · 17/05/2024 13:53

Mine are like yours and I have them tinted every couple of weeks. Looks natural. The tinting finds hairs you didn’t realise you have so makes the brows look fuller and darker.

SwayingInTime · 17/05/2024 13:55

I would honestly try tinting first - there may be fine hairs you cant see that will take the tint for a week or so and then after having it done at the salon a few times it is easy to do yourself. That's what I do, unfortunately the follicles are dead on one side and not the other so I can never do nothing at all but it is worth finding out.

NoBrow123 · 17/05/2024 14:05

Sounds like I should try a tint, especially if it only lasts a couple of weeks. I can cope with that! Just to illustrate my fear though, this photo from Instagram is exactly what I don't want. Her eyebrows are perfect in the before photo, and mad in the after. I would be requesting the 'before" effect, 100%

You could try this in a light brown colour to plump up the hairs you do have.

I agree tinting would be good as well though. May as well try it before considering micro blading.

I would save up for a visit to a very good micro-blader! Not all micro-blading makes you look like Cara Delavinge! They will be dark-ER for a week so but then quieten down!

Whyoohwhyohwhyyyy · 17/05/2024 14:22

I'd go for powder brows rather than microblading. It's a softer more natural look. But you MUST do your research and find someone good! If you're anywhere near Cheshire checkout brows by sarah, not cheap but she's amazing

MaryBethMayfair · 17/05/2024 14:25

I have had decent success with the serums you get to promote eyelash growth. I used mine on the tails of my brows as they were sparse and I've noticed an improvement.

You're not going to wake up a different woman or anything, but as part of a daily skincare/ beauty regime, I'd add this in.

There are lots of brands on the market. The one I have is Aldi and costs <£5
Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Boosting Serum , 5.3 Ml : Amazon.co.uk: Beauty This one linked as an example of the kind of product I'm talking about.

They do excellent work! Also The Eyebrow Clinic in altrincham is fab.

Not much advice here I'm afraid - but you have gorgeous eyes, don't worry about your eyebrows

SnowyCrossroads · 17/05/2024 15:04

Everyone has given you good advice on improving the look of your eyebrows.

As someone with very sparse eyebrows, consider thyroid issues - the thinning/loss of outer third of eyebrows can be a symptom. Also thinning of eyebrows can be early sign of frontal fibrosing alopecia (not saying you have this, just highlighting it in case anyone else looks here as early treatment is important).

buffyslayer · 17/05/2024 15:11

I've had micropigmentation, am very fair and it looks natural. I do use a brow gel on top as the hairs are still pale

buffyslayer · 17/05/2024 15:13

No makeup

Lellochip · 17/05/2024 15:47

Some tints dye the skin more than others. Henna ones stain the skin pretty well, but nothing would be very long lasting, fades off the skin in a week or two, though the hairs are permanently dyed

SweetLittlePixie · 17/05/2024 15:48

With microblading you have to be really careful where you goz some places make them look very natural though. Maybe do some research and ask them for before and after pictures of what they have done. Maybe also bring the picture you posted here to show them what you absolutely dont want.

NoBrow123 · 17/05/2024 16:00

@SnowyCrossroads I actually have no thyroid at all! I had to have it removed as it went a little bit cancerous, but then again my eyebrows have been like this since I ruined them in the 90s like everyone else 😫

@buffyslayer Ooo, those look lovely 😍

I've got a hair appointment tomorrow so am going to ask the beauty salon lady there.

I think some places can do them to look natural, a family member is thinking about this place
