I would avoid the base colour being white for a dress to wear to a wedding so sorry it's a no from me.

BebbanburgIsMine · 19/05/2024 18:25

It's a lovely dress, I don't like the split, far too high for me, but as it's not me who will be wearing it, it's perfect for a wedding guest.

I don't get all this no-one should wear even wear even a hint of white to a wedding, Granted, I haven't been to that many weddings in my life, but no-one, brides included, has cared what anyone else is wearing.

I agree. I just wouldn't, but it's a really personal thing.

Mmmm19 · 20/05/2024 06:52

Yes and it’s very nice

Einwegflasche · 20/05/2024 10:50

It's not my thing at all but I'd say it's definitely fine for a wedding.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/05/2024 11:17

It's lovely, and as a fellow blonde I think the white and blue is a much nicer colour and pattern than that green and pinkish upholstery fabric.

People who think wedding guests should avoid patterned fabrics on a white background are being a bit weird imo.Grin

katebushh · 20/05/2024 11:56

Yeh it's gorgeous. Have fun!

FaeryRing · 20/05/2024 12:09

CassTheFox · 17/05/2024 21:03

It’s gorgeous! Very tempted to purchase, would love to see a pic of you wearing it to get an idea of the fit?

Will try it on over the next few days and post! Feel free to nudge me if I forget! Any excuse to try it on again!

The split looks very deep but actually only comes to halfway between knee and hip, but I am 5’9.

Just looks like a lovely summer's day dress to me. Not bridal at all.

Growlybear83 · 20/05/2024 15:14

I think it's a perfect dress for a wedding guest to wear.

TemuSpecialBuy · 20/05/2024 17:15

Jeezitneverends · 17/05/2024 10:17

I wouldn’t even describe that as a white dress as it’s so patterned. It’s lovely and perfect for a wedding guest

Agreed.

wear blue stuff with it and it’s fine.

RachLeeds · 20/05/2024 21:21

I think if you have to ask the question, then the answer is “no”. Beautiful dress but personally I wouldn’t wear it to a wedding.

TypingoftheDead · 21/05/2024 21:16

I don’t wear dresses but think that’s a lovely style. I prefer it in the navy, but the blue is pretty! Not too white for a wedding, especially given your update about the bride not minding what you wear.

lhlh · 22/05/2024 00:23

It’s nice - loads of blue so not bridal.

justafleshwound2024 · 22/05/2024 02:54

I'd ask the bride directly with the link and ask her to be genuinely honest. I think it's fine but people get weird over weddings.

Kitkatcatflap · 22/05/2024 09:46

Perfect summer wedding guest dress. You will look lovely.

Rainbows89 · 22/05/2024 11:32

It’s beautiful!

I think it’s perfect for a wedding!

littlestrawberryhat · 22/05/2024 13:04

I always say if you have to ask then no

Burnamer · 22/05/2024 13:12

God no.
I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t have appreciated my guests wearing it.
I would judge you as a fellow guest (being honest).

why would you risk it?!

Why would you judge it in that way? It's a pretty dress, not bridal nor bridesmaidy. It's going with a bright hat and shoes. Seems fine. A very antsy bride to object!

Seriously? Confused

'Judge' on what grounds?

FaeryRing · 17/05/2024 10:23

Thanks all. It’s my best friends wedding and she’s not at all Bridezilla so wouldn’t care what I wore but equally I don’t want whispers about white dresses and attempts to upstage lol. The green is lovely but just wouldn’t suit my skin tone/hair colour.

It's absolutely lovely and a perfect choice

TeaandScandal · 22/05/2024 14:10

If that dress would have outshone yours on your wedding day, @Burnamer , you should have upped your game.
Not dissing the dress, it’s lovely.

Why?

It's a pretty summer dress and no way would she be confused with the bride!

curious79 · 22/05/2024 19:18

I think it's lovely but then I was crucified by some Americans at a wedding for wearing a cream base dress COVERED in red flowers. They didn't want even a base with white or cream
