What's the best lightweight hair oil that you use and recommend please?

Already tried:
L'Oréal extraordinary oil it's a bit heavy for my fine hair
Ogx coconut milk serum again it's nice but a bit heavy for my hair
Morocanoil too heavy

Don't mind spending a lot more as long as it works!

I have very fine flat hair, but dry. A new hairdresser suggested morrocian oil, I had never used oil as I didn't want to weigh my lifeless hair down. She said to use just a small amount, I am now using this brand of shampoo, conditioner and dry texturising spray too and my hair is much better. Could it be that you used a little too much morrocian oil if you found it too heavy?

Morrocanoil Light.
It's gorgeous scented and you only need a tiny bit - lasts ages. Avoid using on the roots as I've found that makes hair look greasy.

The Percy and Reed one is lovely

frugalkitty · 12/05/2024 14:28

Liz Earle hair oil is my holy grail hair product, only need one pump so lasts for ages and doesn't make my hair greasy/heavy

My two favourites are the kerastate one and OUAI - lightweight and gorgeous. OUAI has a more floral smell, I love it but I remember some people in the reviews preferred no fragrance.

Bought this as they didn't have serums when I was away recently. I usually find hair oil heavy but have been really impress with it and it's reasonably priced. I'm going to start buying it regularly

I like the bumble and bumble one.

But my hair is thick and dry so can take a fair amount of most types.

justjudy · 12/05/2024 18:18

The Pantene one smells lovely and isn't too heavy

AlannaOfTrebond · 12/05/2024 18:20

Percy and Reed No oil oil is my favourite.

JoJothegerbil · 12/05/2024 18:36

I'm a fan of the Percy and Reed volumising no oil oil too. I got it in the M&S advent calendar and am nearly at the end. I will probably re-buy although it is a bit spenny.

Fable & Mane Holi Roots smells divine

Aveda NutriPlenish equally lovely, but smells less amazing (might be a good one if you don’t like scents)

KnickerlessParsons · 12/05/2024 18:44

Just plain old coconut oil.

endlesscraziness · 12/05/2024 18:55

Kerastase is fantastic

BourbonD · 12/05/2024 18:55

Virtue healing oil

user09876543 · 12/05/2024 18:58

Moroccan oil needs only the tiniest bit. I have very long thick hair and the amount I use is about the size of an old half penny both in term of thickness and diameter. Very little. If it really is too heavy then try the light version

RaspberryCloud · 12/05/2024 19:20

I love this stuff - only a very small amount needed - uk.olaplex.com/products/olaplex-n-7-bonding-oil-uk

goingdownfighting · 12/05/2024 19:21

Kerastase oleo relax.

Notatthemoment · 12/05/2024 19:22

I love the Olaplex one

Milkydumplings · 12/05/2024 19:23

I will not use anything but the Kerastase oil, it’s just brilliant.

Mayhemmumma · 12/05/2024 20:25

Body shop coconut one is amazing! Put in in as a pre wash for the best conditioner ora tiny bit for styling.

BringMeTea · 12/05/2024 20:47

Living Proof vanishing oil. Hands down the best I have tried. No greasiness.

user09876543 · 12/05/2024 20:49

i think living proof is snake oil (Perhaps that might work though in a thread about oil..)

AlexandraJJ · 12/05/2024 20:52

Kerastase fan here. The red or the purple one
