Recommend me new blush please (early 50s)

I've been loyal to Chanel Joues Contraste for over 10 years, perfect shade (rose), blends so easily and stay forever, however, they changed formula and my shade is not available anywhere, so I need something else and the marked moved on with a lot of new brands and textures out there.

I need something which is super easy to blend and will stay through the day so I don't need to touch up, not sure if it should be powder blush or cream / stick etc.
I'm early 50s with dry-ish skin, don't use powders or foundations.

Happy to go for up to £50 for something really good.

Would really love your recommendations, TIA

Oh gosh that is my current blush too!!

Mine is ancient though about 5 years old.

Following for answers!

I have two favourites:

Trinny
Milani liquid blush

NonBinaryBlanket · 10/05/2024 22:19

Jones Road Miracle Balm.

I'm only a few years younger than you. I like Nars cream blusher. It blends beautifully and lasts well for me. I wear it in the shade "orgasm" because it's a soft gentle glow rather than really intense but they have several other pinky/rose shades too. I also find one bottle lasts an eternity because a tiny amount goes a very long way. Can highly recommend.

jonnyjanetkeogh · 10/05/2024 22:23

Sorry should've said liquid blush rather than cream.

Bloom15 · 10/05/2024 22:25

Do you like an intense or subtle blush colour? I am 43 but love cream or liquid formulas as I have dry skin

nearlylovemyusername · 10/05/2024 22:42

@Bloom15 very subtle and I'm quite interested in cream or liquid formula.

@jonnyjanetkeogh this one? NARS Cosmetics Orgasm Liquid Blush - LOOKFANTASTIC
I'm going to try it in some store.

I'm actually quite interested in these two

Yes that one. Good idea to try before you buy! I haven't tried the multiple yet but I do want to. I found Nars by chance when an old colleague recommended them and since then I haven't looked back.

I like laura mercier and dior blushers. They're in powder form but very high quality and look very smooth on the skin. The brush that comes with the dior blusher is totally usable and soft as well so that's another plus point when travelling. (I've always found the included chanel brush too small and scratchy.)

I use that one too. A tiny little dot is plenty and there's quite a bit in a bottle.

Very good point! I needs it to be travel-friendly so ideally either with brush in or be able to apply it with my fingers.
@Appleblum do you use new Dior formula? I was looking at it but reviews say it's now difficult to blend after reformulation.

I love this liquid blusher. Beautiful on the skin and easy to blend with fingertips.

I second the jones road miracle balm.

EmoIsntDead · 11/05/2024 09:31

Another vote for Nars Orgasm!

DarkDarkNight · 11/05/2024 09:46

I use the Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff and really like it. I also have a few similar products from the High St - I think one from Revolution and one from Maybelline.

How about Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge or Stila Convertible Colour? Or one or other of the little Benefit box blushers?
Also have a tip for travelling or long days - buy a telescopic brush with a cover and then you can put some on the brush as you do your make up in the morning and just take the brush with you for touch ups,

BatshitCrazyWoman · 11/05/2024 10:07

My skin 'eats' a lot of make up, especially blusher for some reason. I am very loyal to Benefit Benefit which stays on my face the entire day!

MorrisZapp · 11/05/2024 10:07

Chubby stick! Mine is eight years old 🤣

Appleblum · 11/05/2024 10:12

@nearlylovemyusername I'm not sure about the formulation... i have 2 newer shades purchased this year and they go on well. I don't like the dior backstage blushers though, those I find hard to blend.
