Comfy shoes for Disneyland Paris

Heading to DLP next month with our 2 DCs and in need of comfortable trainers and/or sandals that I can wear all day...

I've had a look at Teva but unsure which ones to get (the XLT 2 ones look the best?), and wondered if anyone had tried those Tropicfeel trainers I keep seeing on Insta?

I'm a size 6 and like black, nude/beige or light blue accents on shoes for summer.

Open to any and all suggestions! TIA 🙏

I have teva universal original and they are amazing. I can walk all day in them anywhere.

Suggest you try them out for a whole day before you commit

Fitflop Rally trainers are super comfortable. Come in a range of colours and materials.

TheTimeTravellerswifeisaFraser · 07/05/2024 15:44

I’d definitely go with trainers. Sometimes closed shoes are a requirement for rides. Especially things like go karts. I’m not sure whether anything at disneyland paris specifically requires closed shoes. Sandles 100% would need a backstrap - they need to know they can’t fall off on some rides.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 07/05/2024 15:48

I'd say trainers too, there's no guarantee of sandals weather in June in northern France. I find New Balance and Hoff trainers very comfortable and supportive, but you'll have to try a few brands and styles and see what you like. Some people swear by Skechers.

Garlicnaan · 07/05/2024 15:51

I love my Tevas but wore trainers to Disney as didn't like the idea of combo of rollercoaster / stairs / crowds and open shoes.

Tropicfeel would be a good choice. Comfy and can get wet.

purplecorkheart · 07/05/2024 15:54

I wore skechers on recent holidays when I would be doing lots of walking and found them great. I do know for some people they do not offer support and shoe professionals suggest you do not wear them long term. However I found them great for holidays. I would say that it is worth trying them on as their sizing is quite funny and varied between styles for me.

Oh very good point re closed shoe requirements. Hadn't thought of that! I just hope I don't overheat with trainers on running after the kids all day 😅

Yes I did think the Tropicfeel ones could be good, particularly on wet rides. Although, I don't think there are any at DLP? I can't remember it's been so long since I went as a child.

Glad you like your Tevas, though. Might just get them anyway for the holiday as we're there for two weeks. Which ones do you have, can I ask? I'm not sure whether to go for the more basic style or the ones that look extra comfy (the ones I linked in my op)

Sketchers hands down, lightweight, and your feet don’t get hot in them.

uggmum · 07/05/2024 17:03

I love my new balance trainers. So comfortable.

I have worn them for many a city break and they are fab.

Crumpledtoad · 07/05/2024 19:44

I wore TOMS exclusively at DLP - they are really comfy and go with everything.Lots of colours available too.

Please could you share a link to the ones you recommend? I can see some but the price differences are huge! Are the slip on ones worth it?

Sketchers memory foam are brilliant! I loved mine they were ridiculously comfy and were around £40/50

Greenly3 · 08/05/2024 03:53

@tillytomtiny i buy mine from QVC as you get a 60 day money back guarantee and can try them and wear them first. I haven’t tried the slip on ones. I can send you the links to the ones I have if I know how to do that?

HidingFromDD · 08/05/2024 07:07

Just a point on the Skechers slip ons, That bit at the back is completely solid so you can literally slide feet into them without using fingers. Can see would be useful if had mobility issues but I really did like them. Bought the arch fit air cooled instead (and they’re lovely)

HidingFromDD · 08/05/2024 07:16

Really didn’t like them is what I should have said!

theteddybear · 08/05/2024 07:54

Wore my Nike 270's they are so comfortable. We had park 4 1/2 days in the parks.

I've heard crocs are supposed to be super comfortable even for theme parks!

You know, I've bought DC new crocs for this same purpose - would it be too much if I wore mine, too!? 😅

Ah this is great to know! Thanks @Greenly3 - erm, I think you can just copy and paste the link? That should work, but don't worry if it's too fiddly

@tillytomtiny hi I can’t copy and paste, but these are the item numbers of the 3 pairs I’ve had this year…… 196470,188667,196200. I’ve got a £10 off for introducing a friend so if you do decide to go ahead let me know.

caitlinsjoy · 08/05/2024 09:29

100% trainers. We went earlier this year and I did at least 25,000 steps every day.

Mothmansknickers · 08/05/2024 13:23

I wore ViIBAe linen shoes in Florida last year. Kept my feet cool and comfortable whilst walking around the parks. They also dry fast if they get wet.

Beautiful3 · 08/05/2024 14:51

The sketchers memory foam are amazing, they cost me £50.
