Summer dress for my 40th?

I’m turning 40 this summer and planning on having a garden party. I’d like to find a special dress, something fun, interesting and out of the ordinary. I’m a short size 12 hourglass and cannot wear midi or maxi, only mini (any other length drowns me). And need things that are fitted rather than loose/shapeless. Very grateful for any suggestions…

Maybe not strictly a summer dress but I’d go with bare legs and the sleeves are really light and floaty but I’ve just bought this for my 40th and I LOVE it! My birthday isn’t for a while but I already can’t wait to wear it, I’ve tried it on about 3 times 😂
