Hair colour change SOS!!!

I'm having a hair meltdown, I've dyed my hair (box dyed) black/blue like a hint of blue if you get me, I don't suit it unless I fake tan myself which I don't do often I look like someone from the Adams family, it's making my already pasty look even more like death 😭 (don't ask why I did it, I have adhd I get these outbursts then regret it). Anyways I want it gone what colour corrector or colour remover do I need for this?

FYI I can't afford hairdressers last time it blew my bank out and it cost at least £200 (my hair is down to my bum) this isn't an option right now so SOS HELP NEEDED! 😭😭😭

Why not just use tanning drops on your face? You don’t need to tan everywhere.

hallyhodge · 05/05/2024 13:04

@Wishona because my neck will be pasty, then my arms which I don't cover up so it's not possible to add tanning drops just to my face I'll look daft 😂

What is your natural Colour? It will fade over the next washes and I've heard washing with washing up liquid also removes cplour.... although moisturize after doing this.

WittyBird · 05/05/2024 13:08

Permanent or temporary?

if temp colour, try neat head and shoulders on dry hair.

hallyhodge · 05/05/2024 13:56

@qwertyasdfgzxcv my natural is mousy brown, I've never considered washing up liquid I might do that to save some pennies

@WittyBird i think it's semi I need to look at the box, I don't think I ever get permanent just because I'm very funny with changing my hair, I technically need to stop

Just condition your hair well if you’re trying washing up liquid and head and shoulders.

your hair will get stripped and you don’t want it to break if it’s really long.

It’s funny you mention. I have ADHD and haven’t had my natural hair colour since I was about 15! These days it’s a combo of hairdresser and home dye that keeps me pepped! Never box dye though.

I was going to say head and shoulders. You'd need a few boxes of colour remover.
I know someone who used CIF but wouldn't recommend it. Unless your hair is in amazing condition.

No you won’t. It would be normal to bring it down onto your neck and blend out from there.

honestly if it looks good with a tan, I’d go with that suggestion. It’ll take time for a dark colour to fade

Colour B4 hair dye remover (other brands are probably available 😅) if you really hate it. It will take the colour out but depending on the hair dye ingredients it may have bleached your natural colour somewhat. Though if it's a semi, maybe not much if at all. Will probably be quite warm-toned after but this normally oxidises down to closer to your original colour.

Otherwise yes either washing up liquid or clarifying shampoo will fade it quicker, and as someone pasty who's been there done that, you can probably get away without a tan, but just a bit of stronger make up. I found just mascara made me look washed out but if I did brows, and eyeliner or shadow, it worked for me. Goths and emos have been making pale skin/dark hair work for years, I'm sure it doesn't look as bad as you think!
