What to wear - Paddleboarding!

Have just signed up for a paddleboarding session in June and literally no idea what to wear that a) will be practical and b) won't make me look completely like a large beached whale on a paddleboard.

Any suggestions - I don't want to spend mega bucks - I'm probably ok for t-shirts so its the bottom half thats the issue.

I'm confused by so many people PBing on the sea. My sea is rather choppy & the RNLI people get very het up if they see me, demand a return time etc. so they can raise an alarm (this is in a kayak) if I go out of sight. Not many PBing on the North Sea ime. God knows what they do when the crazy long distance OW swimmers go by.

Plenty paddleboarding in the North Sea where I am. We always stay within sight of the shore and always have someone on shore watching. Also carry a phone on a waterproof pouch and use a boyancy aid. Main thing is to check tide times and wind direction and speed before going out.

I only paddle board on the sea at high tide , when it's calm with little wind. Be careful of offshore winds .
