After decades of bunging on cheapo moisturiser on my face I'm now ready to take more care as am in sixties..
Can anyone tell me are you supposed to apply moisturiser over the top of vitamin C serum and if so, any particular moisturiser to recommend please?🙏

Yes but use it in the morning.
Cerave is a decent range for the price.

Paulas choice is a good resource for finding about skin care, you dont need to buy her products but there it a lot of knowledge

Just coming into my 60's Ive upped the skin care and prefer to use serums targeting areas.

Skin is pretty clear now, bit rosey, major oily tzone and all those creases which used to be fine lines :(

Right now Im back using The Ordinary Balance kit because of this oil slick that is my t-zone.. Im also fighting dullness and ageing which is why I prefer serums. I can buy the serum needed and layer up and then slap on the moisturiser where needed

Moisturiser will only go so far and Ive got to say, as we age, we need HELP so serums are great

Im learning to treat the problem and our faces are unfortunately not a straight forward canvas. So I use one product there, another there and then finish with the moisturiser and because Im using serums, I dont need really expensive ones, I use lidls bog standard , its just to stop the tightness, the serums are doing their work

To answer your questions, yes, moisturiser on top of vit c serum.
I'm currently using Inkey List Vit C serum and the Byoma gel moisturiser (in a pink bottle). Both cheap and easily available in a bigger Boots.
Do make sure you also wear a good facial suncream as the last layer, I have La Roche Posay and Biore Watery Essence to try when that's used up. Neither of these were super expensive either.

The best night time moisturiser by far is cicaplast baume - so hydrating but probably a bit heavy for the day!
and spf - I like cosrx high protection aloe sun cream for my face. It’s a Korean brand and their skin care is excellent

General rule of thumb, is thinner formulations first, so yes, vitamin C, then moisturizer, then SPF 50.

You don't need to spend on moisturizer. Any that hydrates your skin is fine. That's all moisturizer is for. If you have oilier skin, then the SPF might be hydrating enough without a moisturizer.

As pp has said, CeraVe is dermatologist recommended.

I am using La Roche Posay Toleriane Riche at the moment as my skin is quite dry and sensitive. When it's feeling really sore I use the Cicaplast Baume mentioned above.

At night I tend to use Astral or Blue Nivea.
