Christening outfit advice - can I get away without buying new?

I’m trying not to buy new clothes and have a smart christening coming up at the end of the month.

Trying to work out if I can put something together with existing clothes, my ideas are:

  • tan ‘leather’ pleated skirt, cream silky blouse tucked in, leopard pony skin type court shoes, camel short blazer
  • navy wide leg trousers, cream blouse as above, cropped boucle navy blazer, mustard XL lightweight scarf and court shoes as above
  • cropped wide leg black trousers, patent chunky loafers, linen oatmeal shirt, light green blazer
  • black full skirt dress with short cashmere sweater over the top, mustard scarf & leopard courts as above

Are any of these ok?? It will be full of posh people so it feels like these are all a bit ‘make do’ to be honest, I don’t really have many dresses and none suitable other than adapting the one option listed. Rest are either super night-out, beach or ball gown!!

I’m 5’10” and size 12 athletic build, if it makes any difference! Another reason I don’t usually do dresses is that I have thick ankles, so for example I wouldn’t wear any footwear with an ankle strap.

Without being able to see the clothes, they all sound good to me. As long as your not in a mini skirt etc it all sounds appropriate for a church ceremony

They all sound suitable but like the sound of the navy trousers/blazer combo the most!

Option two just sounds fantastic to me! All sound very christening appropriate 😊

Option 2 or 3

They all sound nice... option one sounds the best to me

Last time I went to a christening it was a joint christening, arranged by the priest. Whilst my son's families were fairly dressed up there were some people in jeans and a shirt.

I wore a while floral dress & wrap top & I was close to being overdressed.

All yours sound suitable but I think the second sounds best.

Honestly, just wear something smart but not over the top.
It's not a wedding but it's not a bbq.

Unless you're a godparent then smart casual will do.
