kayla12345 · 30/04/2024 19:54

Just the above really?

I'm let 30's and my make up bag consists of foundation, concealer, mascara, bronzer and eye brow pencil.

What do you all use?

What's your skin care routine?

I'm late 30s too. My make up bag consists of:

YSL Touché Eclat
Chanel Les Beiges cream bronzer
Benefit Hoola bronzer
Hourglass Ambient Lighting blush
Maybelline Sky High Mascara
Glossier balm.com
Refy eyebrow sculpt and gel (the best brow stuff out there if anyone is interested!)

I also have the remnants of my Benefit Dr Feelgood face balm as it has now been discontinued and I'm refusing to throw it in the bin as it has been my favourite beauty product for over 20 years😭

I do chuck my mascara out every 3 months but everything else I use till it’s gone.

Edawson · 01/05/2024 15:39

I don't use a make up bag but I have a Beautifect Box ( If you haven't tried one yet, honestly look it up)
I tend to keep daily stuff in there, primer, foundation, tweezers, eyelash curlers, mascara, eyeliner, blusher and a powder for setting. Along with a Beautifect blender that comes in a pod and 2 face brushes. I keep my 'weekend' make up ie eyeshadows etc in a separate vanity bag.

Sgtmajormummy · 01/05/2024 15:45

I have a double sided makeup bag/pencil case that contains all my handbag paraphernalia.
On the makeup side, all neutral colours:
Huda Beauty eyeshadow palette with mirror
Mascara
Barely visible lipstick
Eyebrow pencil with spoolie cap
Rêve de miel chapstick
Tiny tube of Zovirax, a couple of aspirin.
Samples of perfume and hand cream.

On the other side:
Pens, pencil, rubber, memory stick, small notepad
Tiny sewing kit with excellent folding scissors
Folding hairbrush
Screwdriver (flat and cross head) that looks like a pen
Trolley token
Tissues.
(Sanpro and spare underwear no longer needed- hooray!)

RampantIvy · 01/05/2024 15:49

Were you a Girl Guide @Sgtmajormummy? Grin
Be prepared.

I always take a jeweller's screwdriver when I travel. As a glasses wearer I can't risk losing a lens.

I can't wear eye make up as I have problems with my eyes, but having dark hair my eyelashes and brows don't need any extra help, thank goodness.

MotherWol · 01/05/2024 16:01

I don't wear makeup every day, but my everyday makeup is:

Bobbi Brown foundation stick (used as concealer)
Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser
Bobbi Brown pot rouge in powder pink (as blush)
Eyebrow pencil (think it's 17?)
Stila eyeshadow in kitten
Natural collection mascara
Clinique black honey

Takes me about five minutes and leaves me looking glowy and natural. I'm 41, have relatively recently got into skincare, and like a minimal natural look.

Sgtmajormummy · 01/05/2024 16:02

@RampantIvy People say I look like Mr Bean at exam time, pulling out whatever equipment they need!

I’m 35 & this is my basic makeup kept in my makeup bag worn daily:

Nars Creamy Concealer
Hourglass Vanish Stick foundation
CT Hollywood Flawless Filter
Westman Atelier contour stick
Westman Atelier blusher stick
Hourglass Ambient bronzer
Hourglass highlighter stick

If I feel like doing eyes, I use

A MAC eyeshadow palette (I have 2)
Hourglass Scattered Light glitter eyeshadow (I have 5)
Clinique black mascara (this was free, want to replace)

All brushes are Real Techniques.

I absolutely love makeup & I’m pretty happy with what I’m currently using. When my bronzer runs out I might try a Westman Atelier one. The two Westman Atelier sticks are my latest purchases & I’m super impressed with them.

My skincare is pretty sorted as well.

AM
Aldi eye cream (me trying to save money, I’d rather use the Sarah Chapman one!)
Sarah Chapman Anti age serum
Paula’s Choice SPF 50

PM
Clinique Take The Day Off
Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser
Sarah Chapman eye cream
Sarah Chapman anti age serum
Sarah Chapman overnight facial (occasional)

KatPurrson · 01/05/2024 16:13

Glossier Boy Brow in dark brown
Couleur Caramel Liquid Eyeliner in black
Chantecaille Longest Lash Faux Cils mascara in black
Ere Perez Jojoba eye pencils in black and gold
Ere Perez Pencil Sharpener
Pacifica Multi Pencil (use as concealer)
17 translucent powder
Kora Beauty Highlighter
Alkemilla universal (clear) lip liner
Sun Bum Lip balm spf 30
Evolve Bio Retinol Lip Oil in a rosy pink colour
Couleur Caramel Lipstick in dark red

I replace mascara and eyeliners every six months and other stuff once a year unless the little icon thing says longer. To be fair the mascara sometimes gets replaced a bit quicker if I’ve finished it. I tend not to replace like for like except the Chantecaille mascara and Boy Brow.

On a, separate note, interested to know how many of you religiously and regularly discard and change your products on the advice given by experts? Advice like chuck your mascara in the bin 3 months after opening even if it's barely used. In my experience unless make up is visible damaged /off people use their make up until it's gone.

Anything used around the eyes - dumped. I wouldnt put an old toothbrush in my mouth so I also wouldnt use an old mascara wand. And the truth is I use mascara very rarely which is why I buy cheap avon or supermarket

Eyeshadow , I wear rarely but I do keep my brushes clean so those are until the death, same with anything on my face, I look after my brushes and blenders

ASighMadeOfStone · 01/05/2024 08:46

I don't wear blusher because I never really learned how.
My make up bag in the bathroom has about 30 things in it.

What goes on my face currently is:

N7 Hydraluminous/Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue/IT Cosmetics CC - whichever I grab first. Will only repurchase the first which is my HG

Mascara- currently finishing a Lancome I got in a set, won't buy again. Will go back to Dior Pump and Volume

Eyeliner- also from Lancome set. Will go back to Clinique quickliner

Eyebrow pencil - cheapo Rimmel blonde one.

Mac Paint pot in groundwork. Will try ELF dupe next.

Revolution CC setting powder. HG. That goes with me to work.

Those are the non-negotiable items or I look like a corpse.

If I've time, a spot of Bobbi Brown corrector.

Hi is the No7 hydaluminous your holy grail? Which shade do you use? I love Clinique quickliner too. Its gone up in price but still worth it I think.

ginoclocksomewhere · 01/05/2024 21:04

Shisedo tinted moisturiser (love)
Charlotte Tilbury liquid bronzer (it's alright)
Rare beauty liquid blush (crazy pigmented, but love)
By Terry face powder (have repurchased repeatedly for the last 10 years !)
Hourglass brow pencil (love)
Benefit brow gel (again, repurchased loads)
MAC lip liner (the best tbh)
Random Korean brand mascara (literally no clue what it's called but it's a tubing mascara).
That's pretty much my go to (although actually, most days I just use the brow gel without using the pencil!).

sciencemama · 01/05/2024 21:09

Literally just a generic eyeliner, maybelline mascara, generic concealer, burts bees lip balm is all I wear. Obv have an eyeliner pencil in there amongst tweezers and an eyebrow brush. I'm early 30s.

MrsWhites · 01/05/2024 21:12

I’m late thirties, make up bag is a mess but this is what I wear daily (don’t usually do eye make up):

Elf liquid putty primer
No7 beautifully matte or Hydroluminous foundation depending on how skin feels
Pixi under eye colour corrector
No7 serum concealer
Huda cherry blossom loose powder (under eye)
Laura Mercier translucent powder
Nars cream bronzer
Nars Laguna bronzer
Charlotte Tilbury blush
Kiko mascara
Too faced highlighter
Anastasia Beverly Hills Pomade for brows
Charlotte tilbury pillow talk lip liner or Illamasqua lip liner
Charlotte tilbury pillow talk balm/gloss or Dior balm
Charlotte tilbury setting spray

Sounds a lot when you write it out but I don’t think I look like I wear a lot of make up.

I love this one - I use cool ivory because it’s what the little machine in store told me to buy but it’s a very good match for my skin to be fair!

ginoclocksomewhere · 01/05/2024 21:15

Skincare:
AM- rinse with water
Superdrug vitamin E face spray
Superdrug vitamin E intense moisturiser
Superdrug SPF 50

PM-
1st cleanse -The Inkey List Oat Cleansing balm
2nd cleanse - Aveeno Oat cleanser
Dermatica Tretinoin (3x per week)
Superdrug vitamin E intense moisturiser
REN ever clear face oil or Erborian skin therapy.

Once per week either REN AHA tonic or Paula's Choice BHA.

Cool ivory is my shade too. I have it in the essentially natural foundaton.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 01/05/2024 21:18

in my everyday make up bag I currently have:
Chanel foundation
VB mascara and eyeliner
hourglass eye palette
Bobbi brown cream blusher
Chantercaille lipstick

but have various other lipsticks, lip balms and eyeshadows that are more going out/holiday/winter colours type make up.

skincare, products vary but in the morning - cleanse, AHA toner, vitamin c, sometimes hyaluronic serum, mist spray, moisturiser, eye cream, face spf cream.

evening - double cleanse, retinol, eye cream, heavier moisturiser.

Franticbutterfly · 01/05/2024 21:18

I don't have a make up bag but the stuff I use every day is: No7 hydraluminous foundation, Kiko translucent powder (the white one that thinks it's like Nars/By Terry but isn't), Lancôme Idole mascara, hourglass palettes, Anastasia Brow wiz, 17 eyebrow mascara (trying to be cheap, false economy really, should have got benefit Gimmie Brow), Stila eye liner in Stingray, Sleek bronzing powder, lots of lipsticks (mainly use pink MAC ones in spring). I add in other bits and bobs but that's my main face. For skincare im using a lot of Dr Jart Ceramidin, Ren Evercalm range, Beauty Pie Japanfusion cleanser.

Divasaurus · 01/05/2024 21:19

I’m embarrassed to say how much makeup I have so will just tell you what I actually use!

D&G hydrating primer
Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful skin foundation, concealer and airbrush powder
Estee Lauder brow pencil (the retractable one)
Gucci bronzer with either Gucci blush or Benefit Floratint
Dior or Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow
Burberry mascara

Also one of my million lipsticks - favourites are Gucci Penny Beige and D&G Lovely Peony.

Easipeelerie · 01/05/2024 21:22

I’m a ‘true spring’ and have built up the make up below to make the best of myself:
Bobbi Brown Primer
Nars Light reflecting foundation in Punjab
Nars Orgasm blusher
Nars Orgasm eye shadow palette
MAC bronzer
Chanel Highlighter
Victoria Beckham Kajal eyeliner and a Stila eyeliner like a thin felt tip - both brown
Benefit brown mascara
Nyx lip liner in bright orange
various lipsticks in oranges and corals from L’Oreal, Rimmel to YSL.
