Going at the end of May and really stressing about what to take as the weather is u predictable and I only have hand luggage.
We have two days and two evening. What would you pack? What is even in fashion now! Hoping to get some ideas on here and head to vinted!

It depends on where (London and Aberdeen have very different climates), and what you plan on doing while you are here.

We mostly survive the unpredictable weather through layering and carrying an umbrella. This covers most bases.

Remember that the outfit you arrive in will be available too.

Travel and arrival:
Trousers / jeans
T shirt
Wool sweater /cardigan. (Wear or tie around shoulders / waist.)
Smart raincoat or flexible jacket.

Evening:
T shirt dress (foldable fabric). Add same sweater or outerwear as relevant.

Next day:
Same trousers / jeans
Second t shirt / vest
Same knitwear / outerwear, layered as appropriate.

Evening:
Second foldable mesh / silk / cotton dress.

Return:
Whatever’s most comfortable.

Something like that? You don’t have to think about what’s fashionable - just pick a fashionable shop or two, like

American Vintage
Zara
Skims
Cos
Massimo Dutti
Realisation Par
Uniqlo
Asket

and pick out some lightweight, easily packable pieces that all work together. Try to pack a variety of fabrics - wool, cotton, silk - to make interesting outfits. Plus rainproof outerwear. Done!

It does sort of depend where you’re going and what you’re doing. Clubbing in Liverpool or Newcastle would be different from visiting historical sites in York.

Can you give us more of a clue OP?

Sorry! The day ran away with me.
Going to Belfast. The evenings will be in a restaurant and in bars

I'm not terribly stylish - but I would say getting your footwear right is critical! Make sure your shoes are comfortable enough to walk round in all day, and then work out what outfit goes with those shoes.

(I'm probably way off though)

We had a city break (Edinburgh) at Easter - I did:

Travel - mid blue Levi’s 90s 501 jeans, Oliver Bonas jumper, NB 574 trainers
Night - (very casual restaurant then drinks) pale wash Levi’s 90s 501, slightly fancy green Cos jumper, Stan Smith Trainers
Day 2 - darker jeans again, taupe Arket cardi with cream stripy top (&OtherStories) and NB trainers again
Night 2 - Oliver Bonas denim boilersuit, Birkenstock Boston clogs (fancier restaurant)
Day 3 - pale wash Levi’s, Arket cardi, white Arket tee, Stan Smiths.

I have awful plantar fasciitis and had to bring the Birkenstocks to wear in the hotel as slippers but weather-wise they didn’t work brilliantly.

Belfast is tiny, but it can be bloody cold and blowing a gale

Jeans are acceptable anywhere at any time, trainers not so , nor sport tops

Other then that - anything goes

The amount of times Ive taken shoes to change into in the evening on city breaks and brought them home again is basically every time, but then we dont look to eat Michelin Star, rather middle of the road, family eateries. We are in Belfast the end of the month for a show, meal, overnight stay and shopping and for me it will be jeans with a posher then usual top and light jacket and ankle boots for the meal and show with some big statement earrings and then back into the tee shirt and or jumper and a thicker jacket for shopping and traipsing about

Belfast is very casual
