and if you do what products do you recommend? I have mid brown hair and want to go lighter.

Been dying for years.

Best bet are the ones like L'Oreal, because next time you need to do your roots, you can be sure to find the EXACT colour you used last time (good to take a note of shade and code as they change the pics) - and if you want to go lighter, use one with extra "blondissimes" or whatever they call it, makes it go blonder faster (rather than unrequited orange).

I also use L'oreal Recital, Capri is a good shade to start with I think it is light brown, and as poodle says you can always be sure that you will be exactly the same colour.

The pre-lightener "blondissimes" can be used the same day as the Recital colour so no waiting around with mad colour hair!!!

Just be careful if you have long hair. I had a home hair dye disaster last month when I didn't put enough on. Patchy hair colour is not a good look

I dyed mine today and thought it looked ok until Ds1 said 'but mummy it's the same colour)
I always use L'oreal
