I want to wear camisole tops but am too old to go bra-less. Do I need a clear strapped thing or can I get some kind of undercover scaffold, with rivets?

because I am in love with this woman and she wears little camis with cardis over

(obv need cardi as am knocking 40)

but you can still see the straps; I can't do visible straps as I am not 19 which is the only age I can see them working for

I have looked through M&S because I am unoriginal and can't find any of those with the clear straps

what do you DO?

You can get vests with in-built bras. They are not ideal though.

You can also get bras with detachable straps, where you can substitute clear ones.

The tops with inbuilt bras make me look like a heifer (am 30G). I would do the cami top with a different style of cardi, or a v-neck jumper?

Cappuccino · 01/04/2008 17:02

34b

not huge I know but they are heavy iyswim

a woman in a bra shop once described me in surprise as 'a heavy busted girl'

If you are modest of norkage, strapless bras are a godsend. I had one with those clear straps but TBH I felt really annoyed by the straps showing. They go a murky colour quite quickly and not 'clear' IFKWIM.

i have a strapless bra from pre-kids but it has always felt as if it was falling down

maybe a new one would be better? or do they all feel like that?

also my breasts are not what they were prekids and it is sad to see them sitting in the cups which they used to fill, with so much room to spare

yes Malory I have seen that but it looks a young look to me

I am so serphistikated

Capp, what on earth are you doing putting on an ancient old strapless bra that doesn't fit any more? GO SHOPPING you madwoman and treat your assets to a lovely new bra that will flatter, rather than flatten.

Cappuccino · 01/04/2008 17:17

I am a very thrifty person

bravissimo tops are ace...

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 01/04/2008 17:20

The bra is gross but you can find ones wth straps like this, which don't look at all bra strappy.

Feck knows where though.

NomDePlume · 01/04/2008 17:23

Freya do pretty straps.

TBH, in a 34b the bra world is your oyster !

Blue floral

for some reason that one kicked me back to MN the first time

CrackerOfNuts · 01/04/2008 17:38

Whats wrong with strapless ??

I am 34DD and would also describe my bust as heavy, but can wear strapless.

I recently got 2 strapless bras for £8 from NewLook, they are great.

CrackerOfNuts · 01/04/2008 17:39

Sorry, just noticed that you did mention strapless.

I think some strapless ones do feel like they are either falling down or you are going to fall out of it. It's a case of finding one that fits properly I think.

NomDePlume · 01/04/2008 17:39

I hate strapless bras. I have yet to find one that doesn't give me the 4 boob effect, no matter what size I try.

(I am a 32F/FF)

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 01/04/2008 18:10

Black sports bras can be god under camis too, it looks like layering rater than an obvious bra.
