I treated myself to a set and the lady said they're needed to be I filled every 2 weeks which seems a lot?
I've had them topped up once and they feel a bit annoying now and the glue feels a bit hard. So I'm wondering if I get a set and then let them fall off then get a new full set again. Does anyone know what makes infills work or why they're a good idea. What happens to the original ones ?
I love looking more made up and like I've made an effort and had the most natural ones possible so just look like I've gone for it with a good mascara but I'm not sure if I can cope with the feeling of them

They start to look pretty mad when you’ve only a few left and they start pointing in all directions too. Better to have regular infills but if she’s not done a good job try someone else.

I usually have mine done every 3 weeks. Seems like a waste of money at 2 but if I leave it closer to 4 I've lost so many I wonder if they will charge me for a full set again.

They shouldn't feel crunchy or weird, that's a sign she's not very good.

Original ones will shed with your normal lash shedding routine - 2-3 weeks is a normal time between infills. If you wait for them all to fall out again (6 or so weeks cycle) it'll look ridiculous for the last few weeks as you've just got random gappy bits!

Infills work because it keeps you looking like you've got a full set of eyelashes, if you didn't get infilled then your normal lash shedding would mean you'd just end up slowly loosing the extensions. Are you washing them? Just wondering if the glue feeling hard is actually just build up if you're not washing the base of the extensions (which definitely needs to be done!).

I've been trying not to get them wet so maybe they have got build up 🤢. How do I wash them ? Never had them before so all new to this

I manage four weeks between visits but my lady is v good and she says I am good at not touching my eyes etc, I rarely go swimming now as that doesn’t help them apparently.

TeaPleaseX · 22/04/2024 17:39

I get a full set of Russian lashes then every two weeks I go for an infill. They look ridiculous if you just let them come out naturally. You need to maintain them or remove them.

TeaPleaseX · 22/04/2024 17:41

You can buy a foam on Amazon for lashes and then watch a YouTube tutorial on cleaning them. Takes seconds.

Sunnydaysplease · 23/04/2024 13:24

Maybe I'm not committed enough to do lashes! This has got me told that I need to commit to 2-3 weeks or don't bother at all I guess !
I like the look of them so I'll do an I fill and see how that one goes

I felt like that. It's been 2 years now! The worst is when you need a full set and have to just lay down for 2 hours and start again. Hate that. 32 weeks now and it's starting to get draining going to my appts and laying flat. But the thought of labour with no lashes on I just can't. 😂

Cookerhood · 23/04/2024 15:42

What do they stick the infills to if your lashes have fallen out? I had them done last year & they looked ridiculous after a couple of weeks (I have naturally spare eyelashes due to bring post menopausal), but I'm not sure there would have been anything to attach them to. Mine were also crunchy. Maybe they weren't very good ones?

Ah no! You only need to keep them dry for the first 24 hours (or less depending on what glue your lash person uses!). You can use special lash cleaning foam and a brush, I just used micellar water (but bubbled up to bubbles) and an old clean fluffy eyeshadow brush. Clean them every night and it keeps them immaculate, which helps retention too! I also use a lash serum which helps with retention, would definitely recommend

@thanKyouaIMee I'll order some cleaner
Interesting that a PP also said hers were a bit dry and crunchy. Maybe I've got small beetles in there !

Caravaggiouch · 23/04/2024 19:56

If you like a natural look anyway have you thought about a tint and LVL lash lift? I don’t have particularly long lashes but after a lift they look like I’ve curled them and applied mascara. I like the look of extensions but don’t like the feel of the glue.

BraveFacesEveryone · 23/04/2024 19:57

Yep, I’m every two weeks. I tried longer but I have a short hair growth cycle, my hair grows quickly. I tried every three weeks but looked ridiculous due to loss. I also clean mine with the foam and little brush, my lash lady does little care packages!

If you want to scare yourself you can Google lash mites 😂 I did and it scared me straight! I double cleansed mine that night 😂

StormKate · 23/04/2024 22:04

Oh jeez. This freaks me out. I found a slug on the floor today and that was bad enough and it was a tiny baby. Mites ineyes? Bleurgh
