Fringe or not

I'm going to an expensive hairdresser. Hopefully for once in my life I'll get what I've asked for.
I paying 170 for a balyage
Another 60 on top for a cut. I've neverpaid so much for my hair.
I mentioned to the colourist ( who doesn't cut hair) during my colour consultation I'm considering a fringe
She said they're really high maintenance and coming into summer it's a bad idea.
She suggested a longer side sweeping one.
Not sure though. I've never had one because u worry it'll end up in my eyes.
Has anyone made the jump to get one amd how do you find them.
I've even looked at clip in ones!

Id agree with the hairdresser TBH. I have a bob with blunt fringe (low maintenance coz I cut it myself!).
But it's a lot of upkeep if you get it cut professionally. Also you wind up with a sweaty forehead, regretting it when it gets hot.
If you do go ahead Def try a longer side swept version first....something you could still tie up/back if needed.

Thanks. Years ago at a hen do I wore a wig with a fringe and I loved it.
But yes the sweaty head puts me off

Fringes are fine when the weather behaves. You'll be clipping it back in summer and wishing you hadn't bothered getting one cut it. Stringy wet pool fringes look awful. In autumn and winter, the wind and rain means you'll spend a shit tonne on extra hold hairspray and/or end up clipping it back again, or wearing more hats. You have to wash it more, you need to get rid of the overnight kink that shorter length hair aka fringes seems to love. Honestly, from experience, don't bother.

I got one cut in last haircut , my hair is wavy (and I wear a hat at work)

Cheaper than Botox was my rational Wink

So high maintenance. Have to wash and style it every day, and it sticks to your head in the heat.

I love my fringe, it takes YEARS off me, but I'm growing it out of summer as I'll be in hats when outside so it's easier to have it out of the way than squashed against my forehead under a hat brim.

I don't have a fringe, last time I had one the hairdresser cut it long because I have wavy hair even then it decided to curl up completely si it looked like I had a hair sausage stuck to my forehead.

I’ve had a fringe for years and I love it. It’s thick and blunt and I have never had any of these issues! I give it a quick straighten along with the rest of my hair, and that’s it. It doesn’t give me a sweaty forehead.
All day in a bike helmet makes it look bad but I can cycle half an hour to work and it doesn’t affect it.
I say go for it.
