Adjusting to new weight

This probably sounds vain but I have always been super slim verging on the underweight and found that most clothes would look good on me and I liked what I saw in the mirror. In last year I’ve started a new medication for my mental health which has been lifechanging but one of the side effects is weight gain so I’ve gone from a size 4 to a size 14.

I hate looking in the mirror now and very rarely let people take pictures of me as I hate how big I look.

I also have no idea how to dress for my new body shape and tend to stick to jeans and baggy T-shirts which used to look on me and now make me look like a fat frump.

Are there any instagram accounts I could follow with women my size that could give me inspiration or suggestions on what I could wear.

I see lots of women my size who look incredible and seem to have oodles of confidence but how do I get there?

First of all- congratulations (right word? Not sure) on finding the right stuff to help you with your mental health. That must be life changing.

Second- has your shape changed alongside your weight? I know that for me, the hardest part was not being bigger (also now a 14 from a 10), but that although I'd always been pear shaped, I now have a c section overhang, and bigger boobs to deal with, so I wasn't just having to buy bigger sizes, but different styles from what I would go for.

Instagrammers who I find work for me (regardless of their size, their styles work for my size) are:
Wearsmymoney
Alexandra steadman
Erica davies
Missy elz (I think)
Charissa Rae
What to wear
Sophie white
Anna newton

There's a bit of a range of styles throughout them, so maybe some of them might suit your style?

As to how to get there, I think the only way is to work your way through it- being a bigger size than you were is just a fact of life now, but it doesn't mean you need to hide behind jeans and baggy t-shirts. Remembering what you liked to wear and then translating it into something that suits your new figure. Once you start figuring out an outfit with an element of you in it, I think you will start to feel better.
