Will One Hundred Stars dress suit me and my

Boobs?

😉☺️
My daughter is getting married soon and I have my eye on a dress from One Hundred Stars.

I have an ample bosom that has been part of my life sinceI was a teenager so I am used to it.
I am in my 60s now.

In the past I would have definitely worn something that enhanced my embonpoint but would prefer a dress that flows around my body.

I don't usually wear prints, mostly plain tunics and dresses with skirts and coloured tights and DMs.

However I have seen some lovely dresses on One Hundred Stars.

I know that this full dress look doesn't always go down well on Style and Beauty 😉
I would like to hear if anyone has worn these dresses and do they like them?

Quite happy to go outside my comfort zone and my budget is up to £150 if anyone has other suggestions.

This https://kiticymru.com/collections/dresses

Is a fan shop in Cardiff.

I assume you meant fab shop! It is. There's some great dresses on there.

mitogoshi · 19/04/2024 22:45

Unfortunately I don't think they'll suit, they also look a bit maternity dress to be. I find v neck especially cross over works so much better as in ample too! I also looking for a mother of the bridge dress, I'm looking in Bristol though

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 19/04/2024 22:48

OP it's all subjective of course but the Acer dress and the Willow pattern dress are a gazillion times nicer than the Joe Brown dress.

My daughter had an awful experience in Phase Eight in Cribbs Causeway.

I was looking at Clifton Village, there seemed to be some lovely little boutiques.

I will go to Cardiff next week!
My wife has her outfit but none of the grandchildren do so I am not panicking.

The wedding was only arranged 3 weeks ago, I haven't been blithely waiting until the last minute.

I need to stop clicking on suggested links, we are moving into the £1000s now!!

I have loved clothes since I was 13 years old and worked in a boutique as as Saturday girl and this is great fun!
I won't be saying that in 2 weeks time, if I am still looking!!

Word of warning re One Hundred Stars...

Can't comment on these particular dresses, OP, as I have two of their 'Rachel' ones. Bought last year, wore one of them about 10 times, another one - less than that.

Love the silhouette of 'Rachel', suits me to a T. Colours and prints are beautiful too. But the fabric is...SHIT. 115 quid a pop, split seams at the back (bust&arse area) and the fabric also developed slim vertical tears all over the arse area.

They're not too small for me (too big if anything), hang loose, I'm a slim hourglass, but not pronounced, small waist, but not booby/hippy at all. The dress wasn't so tight as to burst at the seams is what I'm saying. I also wore them 'normally', didn't sit on rough surfaces or anything.

I love them and would buy more if the fabric would be more sturdy. Way too expensive to be worn a few times. The dress you want, OP, is made of the same fabric, according to the website.

Thank you for that information. I never spend this much on clothes so the quality is really important to me.

I’ll be the one lone voice in favour of the One Hundred Star dress. I am ample of bosom but also apple shaped so I look like the side of a house whatever I wear.
I have dresses like this and the colour and flow balances out the shape. I get compliments when I wear them. I am umm, 55+ and it’s kind of freeing now to just wear a dress because I think it’s beautiful. And those dresses are beautiful.

Netaporter · 20/04/2024 06:28

@SadCelticBunny I am large of nork also. I love a kaftan. H&M have some reasonably priced options at the moment which would look great paired with great jewellery. IME, Kaftans have the opposite effect in terms of making you look ‘drowned’ and that are a bit more glamorous. I think the hundred stars dresses are lovely, but the length is not terribly flattering and as others have pointed out, the material quality is not great - personally the ones I’ve looked at seem very thin which is probably why there is an issue at the seams.

Hope you have a fab wedding, dress code seems awesome!

I’ve looked at them too as I love the prints, but dismissed them because of my massive tits- I know I’ll just look like a marquee.

Don’t do it!

MissBedelia · 20/04/2024 06:42

And now I’ve looked at the Kiti website and am resisting the urge to shop.. 🙈

I love one hundred stars and have a few of the Rachel style dresses. They are a much better style for a larger chest. They are also floaty around the body or you can add a belt which I always do. The pattern and material are lovely. Enjoy the wedding.

MissBedelia · 20/04/2024 07:51

Or wear something fitted under one of their floaty dusters or kimono jackets?

TheRustyAnchor · 20/04/2024 07:55

Orangello · 19/04/2024 19:24

no, I don't think those dresses would not suit someone with ample bosom, you would look like a tent. You can still go for something flowy, but it needs a little bit of structure, draping maybe?

I was going to say the same thing, I’d look like a circus tent in those! I’d go with a lower neckline, not necessarily lots of cleavage, but certainly not something so high.

No I'm with you on that.

Mimrr · 20/04/2024 08:12

Have just been to a wedding and took ages to find a dress that felt comfortable for my size 16 massive bosom self. Ended up with a Scarlett & Jo Isabelle dress. They do tons of prints in the style.
draped over boobs, long and heavy and swishy. I got lots of compliments. Mine was an aqua print.
can’t do links but easy to find on their website. Mine was reduced in John Lewis so only £40!

EnjoyingTheSilence · 20/04/2024 08:15

Love the green acer dress

EBearhug · 20/04/2024 08:40

If you drive, I like some of the independent clothes shops in Hay-on-Wye.

Choux · 20/04/2024 08:47

One hundred stars also do the prints of the dresses you posted in throwovers and kimonos. These are floaty and flowy could be worn over a flattering dress you already own to elevate the outfit to be more celebratory for a wedding.

I'm including this one to show the effect as it's styled with a dress even those it isn't one of the prints you posted. I love the acer green myself.

ItsTapasTime · 20/04/2024 08:48

….apologies. It’s the stork shirt dress that needs a belt. The abbi does go in at the waist.

GreatGateauxsby · 20/04/2024 08:49

The third one is 😍

Order it and if it doesnt work you can return it

NashvilleQueen · 20/04/2024 08:52

As someone with a similar body shape I will say that sometimes i prefer the flow of a looser dress even tho I know it's probably making me look bigger overall.

For smaller busted women who think that is a S&B faux pas it's sometimes nice to have a dress that doesn't say 'hello here are my massive boobs'. I don't want to emphasise/maximise/accentuate them. I want no one to notice them and if a dress that makes me look bigger overall (shock horror) achieves that with a lovely fabric and a nice movement to it then I'm in.

ilovecherries · 20/04/2024 09:02

I have a tapestry (cowl neck) and a V neck Rachael from 100stars. I think both have the potential to be dressed up for a wedding and they are both extremely comfortable. They both needed a lot of steaming to get the hard packing folds out of them, but then didn’t crease badly in wear. They refund promptly so no harm in trying to see what you think. I’m 32G.

maslinpan · 20/04/2024 09:40

Definitely order one of the obi belts in the same print as the dress, it makes a big difference and is very flattering. The prints that One Hundred Stars do are so lovely that it's definitely worth trying all the options. I find them very comfortable to wear.
