Explain it to me like I'm 5 (hair, bob, flick)

Caveat: I'm rubbish with hair. Don't understand it all. My arms just can't do the things, my brain overthinks and my hair goes nyanananana.

Anyway, I donated my hair last week and have gone from very long hair to bob length, just touching the tops of my shoulders. The cut was a bit rough. Consultation, hair into ponytail & 'tail cut off, washed, properly cut, blowdried and paid all inside 30 minutes. When the stylist dried it, one side curled under and the other side was half straight half flicking out. However, I'm not sure the following problem is necessary due to the stylist's work, I mention it in case though.

The hair near my face tends to flick forward rather than under, mostly on the right hand side. By forward I mean the same direction as my nose. I just did a rough blowdry and the issue is still there. (Tbf I was diatracted mid dry and perhaps the hair became too dry before I got to that section.) How do I stop it flicking forward? I don't care about much else hairwise - I'm unskilled at hair - but I do really hate the forward flick. My hair is an extremely fine texture so struggles with any more than slight product, it's undyed and I don't normally use heat on it. But if you can teach me how to unflick the flick I will use heat and products!

Revlon one step! Like you, I'm rubbish at doing my hair. But with the one step I can get a pretty neat blow dry, with the ends of my boobed hair neatly curled under. I've recommended it to a lot of people and they've all loved it

@Nonametonight I thank you for both the recomendation and the typo brightening up my morning 😄

That’s lovely you donated your hair.

I’m no expert but if my hair’s above shoulders one side will flick out no matter what (other will sit nicely in). I think maybe there’s not as much hair on one side so it doesn’t have the weight not to flair.

Sorry, not very helpful, but the answer might be a couple of inches/months needed!

I have a bob, but a bit shorter than yours.

The flick, ah I know the flick.

Are you putting your hair behind your ear? This is a sure fire way to get the flick.

If not, can it be a bit heavy? . I have mine thinned out (I have masses of hair) as if it's cut straight and not textured properly it does this.

When drying it, you will need to do it in layers. So clip the top parts away and start drying the bottom with a round brush all around, then the next layer etc. If the bottom part is sticking out, it's going to make the rest stick out too.

Or perhaps the length is not quite right. This is a bit of trial and error though, I prefer mine slightly shorter as it starts to flick in every direction when it's gets too long.

I just read this back and always thought I had an easy style. It seems I don't really think of it as high maintenence really. I suppose I am just used to styling it now.
