Child S&B! Where do I buy similar clothes once she's grown out of Jojo?

I know this doesn't quite fit in S&B, but I wasn't sure where else to post! I really like Jojo Maman Bebe clothes for DD, and especially their nice waterproof coats. DD had a rainbow stripe one at age 3-4 which she (aged 7) is still desperate to tell me fits. She specifically requested the same again - and of course, they don't do beyond age 5-6.

Where do you go for clothes with a similar style/quality/sizing, for older children? I don't like Frugi. I would be only too delighted to pay less than Jojo. But I would like to get something she will like.

Bizarrely, Tu at Sainsburys (and online) was the most similar when we were in this position. It was a good few years ago so styles may have changed
Next
Boden

Amblesidebadger · 18/04/2024 23:03

Boden
Possibly Little Bird at Next

SarahAndQuack · 18/04/2024 23:03

Thanks! I do often like Tu - I loved it when she was younger - but now she's over 6 it all seems to be either pink frills or camo gear. Sad

Kite Clothing go up to 12-13 years https://www.kite-clothing.co.uk/

Agree Boden and Next

Also John Lewis own range and M&S worth a look

I have found good kids clothes at H&M (their cotton basics) and La Redoute. But not really the Jojo style.

SarahAndQuack · 18/04/2024 23:10

Thanks! M&S does't fit her - there's nothing on her, and M&S falls off. La Redoute I've not looked at - will do!

Thanks! Do you like the quality of it?

@SarahAndQuack I bought some things as new baby gifts, as my own DC are adults now. I would say the fabric seemed thick and good quality.

Benjaminsniddlegrass · 18/04/2024 23:14

I graduated from JJMB to Boden at similar age, I think Boden have that good quality feel, with fun colours and designs. I buy most of mine from vinted though as they wear well - for example, just had a gorgeous pair of dungaree shorts with embroidered rainbow arrive today look almost new and cost me £9 (incl postage).

AliceinSlumberland · 18/04/2024 23:16

Lindex maybe? Tony tiger might be a bit too frugi.

Bollingerforbreakfast · 18/04/2024 23:18

Boden. We've outgrown that now and I'm never sure where to go next

Zippedydoodahday · 18/04/2024 23:20

Hatley do some similar style raincoats, at least they have in recent years.

TypicalTypo · 18/04/2024 23:23

I think Hatley does lovely raincoats and they are also very comfortable to wear not stiff and plasticy

I think their clothing range is very cute too, although only ever needed boys things

purpleme12 · 18/04/2024 23:24

Mini Boden
I've just bought some lovely bits today with 25 per cent off
And then pay in installments so it doesn't feel so bad!

PinkHouseYellowHouse · 18/04/2024 23:28

For coats particularly, Boden and Lands End are worth a look.

Tu, Next, Kite, some H&M, outdoor stuff like Mountain Warehouse etc can be a bit younger. Some independent brands.

I'd be less worried about quality at this age. Whilst it may last, 7-9 she might change quite drastically in what she's happy to wear.

WeightoftheWorld · 18/04/2024 23:39

I buy most my DD's stuff from Next now. She's in 5-6 and likes bright colours, 'quirky', but practical, and loves pink/unicorns etc but also dinosaurs and blues/greens and so on so we buy from both girls and boy sections. Find they are decent quality and their basics ranges are well priced.

minipie · 19/04/2024 00:08

Yes mine is slim too. La Redoute and H&M are good for slim kids, so is anything French/Spanish IME

thehousewiththesagegreensofa · 19/04/2024 00:45

Also, look in the boys' ranges. H&M, Next and John Lewis often do loads of plain tops and things in red, electric blue and purpose.
Once they seem to grow out of Next, look online where much of their range goes up to 16 rather than the 12 it is limited to in the shops.
And then despair when they hit secondary and wear nothing other than grey, khaki & black

purpleme12 · 19/04/2024 00:48

Yep my child is 10 and still happy to wear stuff like Boden instead of 'fashion' clothes.
I'm quite happy with that
