Bored of my own style

I'm not too bad with work clothes as there's a dress code but when I'm off work it's either jeans, leggings for exercise or more jeans! I really struggle to know what to wear otherwise and find myself coming home after clothes shopping with a standard 'uniform' of a new pair of jeans, white top, striped shirt etc. I see loads of women with great, interesting style but I don't know how to do it. I also never wear jewellery, not much make up either. How do I go about developing a new style? Thanks

Maybe spend some time wandering around galleries looking at portraits? There are infinite ways to look like your distinct self - and hundreds of years of portraiture (from every continent) can help to reassure you of this.

One excellent piece of advice I vaguely try to follow is to buy one extravagant accessory every season. (Or at least one for Winter, one for Summer.) Bracelet, beanie, belt, whatever - something irresistible that elevates and adds distinction to whatever else you’re wearing. (And that doesn’t depend on changes in size or even context.) It should obviously be something that you want to keep and wear until it falls apart. Over time you build up a versatile ‘curation’ of lovely things - and can feel more relaxed about actual clothes.

(Sorry - bored waiting for elderly person undergoing treatment.)

A few places I like for accessories. ‘Extravagant’ covers a wide range, of course.
