Wedding Outfit - Chic or Crystal Carrington Like?

Help! Need an outfit for a wedding in May (civil ceremony in country house location) and would like to avoid buying something very 'weddingy' (i.e that I can only wear to other weddings and which stays hanging in the wardrobe for the rest of the year) Have seen this dress in Laura Ashley which I like - but am not sure if its suitable for a wedding. Is it 'chic' (for want of a better word) or will I end up looking like Crystal Carrington from Dynasty given the type of sleeves it has! Also not sure if the colour is a bit dull - tho it does have a shine to it. I am an average size 12 and blonde. There was another picture of it on the website being worn by a model which does it far more justice but I now can't find it - think it was under the View Collections bit. All honest opinions welcome! Thank you!

I would say more chic than Cyrtal. I can't say I personally love it - bit dull . But it looks the sort of dress that would look much better 'on' - did it look good? (first & most important rule of wedding attire imho...)

I've seen that one and like it - possibly not too flattering for the large of nork, but if you're modestly blessed in that department, should be good.

oh that's really luvverley - deffo chic not Crystal. V sophisticated and elegant AND you will wear it many times in the future after the wedding I'll wager.

Thanks for the very prompt responses - very helpful! Alas I am no longer 'large of nork' after 2 babies in 3 years - if anything I need padding in that dept! I have yet to actually see the dress or try it on - I live outside of the UK and was thinking of getting it sent to my sisters. Am over in the UK for 2 kid-free days in a couple of weeks so have been trying to limit my 'faffing whilst shopping' time and shortlist outfits via the net (not being very successful so far tho!)
So, if anyone sees a wild eyed blonde, knocking over old ladies in Milton Keynes in pursuit of suitable dresses, muttering loudly about having no time and norks whilst trying to convert pounds to euros and back again, that'll be me!!!!
