Receding hairline

Can anything be done about this?
When my hair's wet I look like a man!
Hair is also thinning a bit, but the receding hairline is more obvious I think. I'm mid 40s and my brothers are all genetically bald so I guess it's hereditary.

I have a condition called Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia which is commonly called Male pattern baldness. I don't know if that's what you have but it starts with the hair receding at the front. It is a stress related condition. I first noticed my hair receding in my 50s.
I got referred to an NHS hair specialist. They tried various treatments. The treatments aimed at stopping the condition progressing - I was told they wouldn't restore the hair lost but could stop the problem getting worse.
In my case the treatments didn't work although I wouldn't try the one considered to be potentially most effective because it's known side effect was damage to vision and I didn't want to risk that.
There may be new treatments available but for me they are too late and I have been wearing wigs prescribed by the NHS for some years now.
I don't know if you have this condition or not but it might be worth speaking to your GP about your concerns.

Thanks. I definitely agree that I'd rather be bald than blind.
